My FMIL is very interested in our wedding (did start to take over a little, but has backed off now). My FFIL and his wife havent shown much interest so far (they are happy for us, but havent asked for details or anything). My Mum is just over the moon and cant wait to start helping me make arrangements.

I have had a very similar run to the other brides on this list. My FPIL are very 'traditional' in wedding planning and when asked to be involved they basically asked us "why would we be involved?" - umm because its your sons wedding... Anyhoo, when I talk about it they change the subject and really show no interest. Suppose its better than pushy future inlaws? FMIL is actually more concerned about the males we will be adding to the family in order to "pass down the family name".

My inlaws werent overly interested..

I always put it down to not wanting to stand on my parent toes.. My Inlaws are very old thinking you know where the bride and her family where the stars of the day.I know thats what they thought they were anyway when it was their daughter getting married

My in laws were exactly the same .. .I can even join in on the FIL not wearing a suit ... or saying a speech, I was disappointed, only as I saw how much it hurt hubby.
