we are going for our honeymoon.

5 nights in Pathumwam Princess (bangkok)
8 nights in Katathani (Phulet)

i recommend going through the books from the travel agent (I found the qantas one good) and making a list, as it will be peak time when you go. also, check out tripadvisor.

We have been there once for a holiday already and have decided we're going back for our honeymoon.
Thailand rocks!! LOL
Last time we stayed 2 nights in Bangkok, 3 nights in Pattaya and 10 nights in Phuket at Le Meridien (gorgeous).
We may stay there again or try somewhere different, haven't sorted the details yet, going to see our travel agent next week, we booked our holiday with him last time (he holidays in Thailand every year).

Let us know when you've decided.

PS: If you're going to Phuket you must go to Phuket Fantasea....

This time 3 weeks ago I was there! sad.gif laugh.gif

We had 5 nights in Phuket at the Arcadia Hilton Resort. Fantastic, couldn't recommend it highly enough. The resort is on Karon Beach, which is the next beach down the coast from Patong, but only about 10 minutes by taxi or tuk-tuk. There are 5 restaurants at the resort and you wouldn't really need to leave if you didn't want to. The food was reasonably priced at the resort, even room service was cheap (was not expecting this at a 5 star resort). laugh.gif

We then had 3 nights in Bangkok. We stayed at the Grand Mercure Park Avenue which was okay, but time over again I would stay at the Pathumwan Princess. biggrin.gif

Fantasea is a must see in Phuket, we enjoyed this very much. biggrin.gif

Hi girls,

We are going in January with Thai Airways...apparently, if you go with them...flights to Phuket and other some other places for FREE yep free...cant think of the others off the top of my head though.

We are staying at the P Princess in Bangkok for 4 nights

then at The Kata Thani for 10 nights in Phuket.

Tours that we have booked, being peak season is:

Tiger temple private tour
Bangkok city and temple tour
and Floating markets private tour...all in Bangkok

In phuket we are doing:

White Water rafting/elephant trek tour
Phi Phi island tour.

Any other tours we will book when we are there.

Can't wait...hehe

Bec,

We didn't have time to do the tiger temple tour when we were in Bangkok unfortunately, but for next time I am curious to know how much a private tour to the tiger temple cost?

The Grand Palace is a must see in Bangkok, that was awesome.

Ill double check what it cost exactly, but we booked it through the travel agent in the 'explorer' catalogue.

Bec,

I don't mean to scare you but we did the Phi Phi Island tour by speedboat last June and we nearly died! It was a 4 metre swell and we got caught in the middle of a storm. I honestly thought we weren't gonna make it.

Whatever you do, if the weather looks bad it is not worth going!

I am sorry to sound negative but I have never been so scared in my life - even my H2B (who is always going deep sea fishing) was scared!

We went to Thailand for our honeymoon last September and stayed 2 nights at the Pathumwan Princess. Very handy hotel which is located right on top of the MBK shopping centre (as Candy mentioned above).

The hotel foyer was beautiful but can't say too much about their rooms. They were pretty average i guess.

We then stayed at the Merlin Beach Resort in Phuket for 10 days. Really nice resort, great breakfast and has nice big pools. The only problem was that you had to get a taxi or tuk tuk into town which cost 200 Baht (rip off!). There is a free shuttle but you are limited as to when you can go.

Thailand was fun, very touristy but we enjoyed it. Oh and you've got to go to a Muay Thai boxing match. So cool to watch!

We also did this and had a major storm coming. It was fun though! The boat was going so fast and we were right up the front which is probably the worse bit for swells and stuff. One minute we had sunshine then the next a storm hit and we were soaking. All in good fun though smile.gif
