Calzo - I just dont think any more than two is for me. I might change my mind who knows!!! smile.gif but life would be a lot more affordable with two. I still want overseas holidays in the future and I want to take my boys to the US. Doing that with two seems a lot more affordable than with three. I think it's purely financial reasons why I choose two over more. (and when I fell pregnant with B2 I had almost made up my mind to have only one!!)

And I love seeing all your FB pics of your kids! I'm so partial to Max - he is just SO cute!!!!!! The dark haired baby I'll never have! Aha

Ive been reading some posts from WAY back. We had so much fun! It makes e want to do it all over again! And also makes me very excited for the4 weddings we have coming up this year, 3 of which are within 5 weeks over Feb/March.

I hadn't even thought about our anniversary! lol It is the weekd before I go o/s with school and without DH so we will need to do something. The actual day is a work day, and i'm out of school travelling the countryside for 2 weeks so things will be very busy, but I'm sure we can do something fun the weekend before it. Now to think of ideas!! Maybe Hunter Valley? We've never been...

Sarah and Lisa, you're kids are just adorable. I *love* seeing their photos wub.gif

Kriss - I've congratulated you in another thread, but i'll say it again... Congratulations!!! SO exciting!

That's the plan!!! hehe. I found a cute little place right on the golf course, that's not part of the main resorts, so it's much cheaper. Off to research me thinks!

Anyone have any recommendations for accommodation or tours or anything?

Sarah I think after early on me REALLY wanting another, I'm done! Maybe I may have felt the same way after we had our 'third' if it had been only one who knows. We really want to do some holidays as well, and the US is on our 5 year plan!!

Max is soooo adorable (but so is Noah) he is such a sweet heart. We had my brother's wedding last week and Noah fell early on the day and hurt his nose. It was bleeding and swollen (I almost rushed him to the doctors but my aunt (a nurse) said he was all good, just a little sore. Max was an ANGEL all day. So calm and sweet. The opposite of how he was to begin with!

I'm just in love with how different they both are!

Speaking of weddings I have a horror story! My brother got married Sunday. Leading up to the wedding him and me SIL had ideas about the day that her mum didn't agree with. They had little arguments here and there. She wasn't going to pay what she said unless the chose her menu etc. Real petty stuff. Fast forward to the day and when my brother gave his speech he neglected to thank her and really talked up those around them that supported him and my sil. MIL's cracked it. spent the wedding night in tears big drama queen. Today almost a week after the wedding MY MUM gets this text "Your son is a pathetic piece of work. He did very wrong on Sunday. Never have we experienced such humiliation like that. It was bloody disgusting!!! His actions will never be forgiven. Shame on you all!!!"

Just WOW!! apparently she doesn't speak to her own in laws about a falling out over her wedding and I know another part of her family they don't speak to. As I said to Ben, the fact is my brother didn't really DO anything, other than not mentioning her (he did mention the rest of the family) and I think she realises what she has done and is too proud and arrogant to admit it!

There you go a long wedding related post!

Lisa - I bet you arn't looking forward to going back to work!! I didn't want to go back after only 2 weeks off, so I can imagine how much you'd be dreading after 12 months! laugh.gif Good on you to still be BFing both boys! You are a super mum! Funny to hear that they are so different! Best of both worlds really!
That's terrible what happened at your brothers wedding!!! I dont understand why some ppl act that way!! dry.gif I went to a wedding last October where they had a similar thing happen in that 3 months before the wedding, the grooms parents decided they couldnt afford the wedding & so pulled out of paying for 1/3 of it. This left the bride & groom and the brides parents having to find an extra few thousand dollars at short notice. A couple of weeks later (before the wedding) the grooms parents announced that they were going to Bali for 3 weeks on a holiday!! My friend (the bride) nearly hit the fan - they chose to pay for a holiday over their sons wedding! So in his speech, he didnt thank his parents (they didn't go ANYTHING to help) and made a big fuss over the brides parents, who forked out extra money at the last minute, and then as they were walking to the dance floor for their bridal waltz, a relative of the groom came up & told him off! It was terrible!!!! sad.gif

BB - While I'm not 'ready' for the tantrums, I'm definitely ready for all the good stuff that comes along with it! blush.gif I've been 'putting it off' for a year now (DH wanted to try straight away), so I'm definitely feeling ready for it now. I'm glad I waited longer than we were going to initially, because now I KNOW I am ready for it - I don't have any doubts smile.gif Hopefully you will be the same in 12 months smile.gif

Sarah - I think it's only normal that DH was a little disapointed that you won't have a pinkie - but it obviously doesnt make him (or you) any less excited about having two scrumptious boys to rough & tumble with! smile.gif I think you will make a great mum to 2 little boys smile.gif Even though he wasnt planned, I think it's wonderful that B2 came along tho - altho I rekon you would have gone back for another anyway wink.gif hehe It was meant to be obviously! wub.gif Even though we havn't even had 1 yet ( blush.gif ) DH & I are thinking 2 might be it for us as well. Originally I wanted to have 3-4, but I'm the same as you in the financially it makes more sense to stick with 2. I'll obviously reasses when the time comes, but my brain will probably want to tell me that 2 is it (even if my heart says 3-4!). Everything comes in 2 adults, 2 kids, no need for a bigger car, no more kids than hands... it just makes sense!

Kate - It's funny how much more excited you get about weddings once you'v had your own! We had 3 weddings within a month last year, and I was so excited for them! Its so nice to be able to sit back & relax & enjoy all the effort that the bride & groom put in, like we did for our guests! I've got another one next month, and I can't wait! I love weddings wub.gif. And I would love to do ours all over again! heheh. It's funny that you want to go to my neck of the woods (the hunter) for your anniversary, and I came down near you guys (blue mountains) for ours! laugh.gif The hunter valley is lovely - I dont really have any recs for accommodation as we normally do a day trip, and the times I have stayed have been for a couple of weddings and they have been exxy! I definitely recommend the tasting at Pe+er$ons champagne house tho! It's divine!

ETA wow that was a long post!! laugh.gif

It's so nice to see lots of chatting in here again! smile.gif

I definitely agree with everyone that said the pro's outweigh the con's regarding tantrums etc! While our family were visiting we had 3 tantrums in the first two days (poor little guy was super clingy to his parents because they had been travelling to different family members in 2 states for 2 weeks so he was unsettled and out of routine etc) but the rest of their stay he was wonderful. We were all really happy to see him relax with DH and I after the first couple of days and he just made my heart melt several times a day wub.gif lol. I did hear SIL and DH chatting about bubs at one point and she said that the beginning was hell, and it's only been recently now that he is talking etc that she's "comfy" and I think that scared DH a lot. For me I think I am ready, but I know DH is not so I want to wait. I knew I was ready for marriage a long time before he proposed and I could tell he wasn't so I just waited for him to "catch up" so I plan to do the same with this! I don't want him to feel pressured, especially as I fully expect him to be a hands on dad, I want him to be ready so he enjoys it and doesn't dread it if that makes sense? SIL did clarify that the good moments far outweigh the bad ones though so he's not completely terrified! laugh.gif hopefully in 12 months DH will be ready and we will be financially settled and good to go! I am clucky as anything in the meantime though! Just got some Hoot PJ's for our nephew for Easter 2 months away ph34r.gif

Wow Lisa! Your poor brother sounds like he's got a MIL from hell!!! What an awful text to send! And to your mum too! She sounds like a wacko! Max and Noah sound like little sweethearts smile.gif I love checking out your pics on FB too, all 4 of your munchkins are adorable smile.gif

Congrats again on B2 Sarah! I think Alex will be a great big brother and I'm sure B2 will be a little stunner just like Alex smile.gif

It feels so odd talking about 2nd anniversary getaways! I can't believe it is 2 years this year! And only a month or two away for some of us! biggrin.gif We are still thinking about ours...I think we'll have a night at a hotel in the city and a nice dinner smile.gif

I just stumbled on this post - I didn't know it was still this active wub.gif I've been more of an observer than anything on I-Do lately, been in and out of the TTC forums but - after TTC for 12 months - trying to take a step back from being so obsessive about it and focussing on other things. Though we're still very much hoping to have some happy news soon, fingers crossed.

Since I was chatting to some of you last, I moved down to Melbourne (after the Wedding) and, I must say, I'm loving it!! I can't believe I've been down here almost 2 years now, it's flown by.

Ours is 8 weeks away! How did that happen?!
No idea really, I was thinking about going somewhere nice for dinner and then having a night out at a nice hotel in the city. But not sure if the budget will allow...We'll probably think about it for a few more weeks then decide at the last minute!

I really want to do something a bit nicer this year because last year was a bit of a fizzer.

Do you have any plans yet Sarah?

Oh and welcome back RJ! smile.gif I'm sorry to hear your TTC journey hasn't happened as you expected yet, but I have heard that the average couple takes at least 12 months, so you might get your happy news soon! I have my fingers crossed for you too, it's lovely to see you back! smile.gif

We were hoping to go on a holiday but I really don't think it is feasible.

I might see if we can get a sitter for Alex for the weekend and Dave and I can have a night together in the city or something. I really have no idea.

Thanks BlueBug! wub.gif And thanks for that, it makes me feel a little more normal (and a bit less broken).

Our 2nd anniversary is in 5 weeks blink.gif Goodness. Last year we decided to make each other a present, and DH (who is a graphic designer) made me up a framed print that says "Home is where your husband is" which I thought was pretty special, especially considering I've moved all over the place over the years. And he was happy when I mentioned that the traditional present for the 1st anniversary is paper!

For this year, he suggested booking a swanky hotel at Crown and going somewhere nice in the city for tea .... until I showed him how much it would cost that is! We're trying desperately to save for a house, so we ditched that idea. Yesterday though I made use of Scoopon and so will make a reservation for a nice Italian restaurant (DH is Italian) in the city, and it also includes a free italian cookbook so I might get him to repay the favour by cooking me something from it wink.gif (he is actually a really good cook and loves cooking).
