Aside from the colour... the first one is a beautiful shot of the two of you. Turn it to black and white and it will be stunning! (i would however mention to your pro photographer how unhappy you are with the colour and get him to reprint them for you... even include a sample of what one of your guests took for comparison.)

I'll play around with your photo at work tomorrow and repost something for you

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'd like to let him know so that it doesn't happen to other couples in the future. Actually, I didn't end up posting the letter today for some reason. What I have just discovered through posting the pics up on i-do, is that they scan really well and I can edit them in Digital Image. So I can crop them to give better composition and maybe play around with the colours as well. I REALLY like the idea of doing black and whites, too. I think I will still write to him and I think a sample of our real colouring would be a good thing to do too.

Thanks!! biggrin.gif Feeling much better about it all now!!

Maybe you can fix it in editing software, but b&w or sepia would look lovely

BTW I love your dress!!!

Oh my god I can't believe what I am reading!! How incredibly uncouth & not to mention unprofessional for your photographer to head straight for the canapes, spilling a glass of wine on you in the process, then proceed to eat cheese straight off the knife. I would most certainly send him a written complaint about his service, he needs to know his behaviour is completely unacceptable.

And your photos sad.gif Oh you poor thing, how devastating. But that is simply his printing software/ equipment. As the girls have suggested, send all your photos back to him and ask that he print them again, and definately include a correctly coloured picture. If he is not able to print your photos to the colour you are asking then get tough with him, demand a refund for the printing component of your photo package, get a high resolution copy the digital proofs and have them printed somewhere else.

Gosh his service is apalling, how on earth does he stay in business mad.gif

Good luck sweety, I'm really feeling for you sad.gif

Well I don't want to upset you more, but the first image is really really crap.
Not only is the colour wrong, but it is out of focus, your expression isn't great, he used direct flash on you. He didn't touch up any of the fluff etc

There is no way I would ever show something like this to a client, and if this was the average standard of my images I would just go into the woods and shoot myself.

Sorry, I hope you get some better pictures from your friends.

OK, here is your original image again:

argh, it will only let me post one image at a time...
here we go.
I had a quick play with the image, here it is.
IPB Image

So, what did I do, I fixed the colour, not perfect yet but better. I fixed up overall colour and contrast of the image. I fixed your makup a bit, darkened lipstick and eyebrows, whitened your and his eyes, whitened his teeth, softened your skin, softened flash refelection. You are both squinting so I opened your eyes a bit rolleyes.gif
Removed fluff on his jacket and most importantly got rid of the blurriness and brought you guys back into focus.
Finally darkened image around the edges a bit.

and a B&W version
IPB Image

All up took about 8mins. Like I said I would never even start with an image like that, but any image that goes into an album would receive some basic treatment.

What do you think?

Working of an original digital file you should be able to get much better results that I did with the low resolution file.

Awww, you are amazing!! That looks so much better!! His face is still a bit redder than normal, but when you look at the original job it's a massive improvement!!
Thank you!! biggrin.gif

Yeah, he did a pretty shoddy job with the lighting and flash, that's for sure!! I was wearing a severly matte, TV quality foundation and translucent powder - no shimmer at all on my face to avoid looking shiny. You can see by my second pic how matte my face actually was. But not even that could help me with this guy!!

Yeah, I wish I had the digital files now, I could relax a lot more. But at least I know that if worst case scenario ensues, and he doesn't send the disc to me, I can still scan them like this and have them fixed.

It would be a shame though because scanned pics wouldn't look any good blown up! sad.gif

Thanks for your time, that's so sweet wub.gif
