Well guys, I'm already into my second week back at work so I thought I better post a bit of a story and some pictures from our gorgeous honeymoon to the Maldives.

We left on the Tuesday after the wedding bright and early heading for Singapore where we would get a flight to Male. All the flights were good and we had nothing but praise for Singapore Airlines the whole way through.

We arrived at Male around 10.30pm their time, by our watches it was 2.30am the next day but we didn’t' really feel that tired, I was more excited than anything. The first night we had to stay in Male in a hotel right near the airport which was clean and comfortable but I just couldn't wait to leave the next day.

Around 7.30am on the Wednesday we got picked up and we were driven back to the airport but this time taken around to where all the seaplanes are. This is where all the luxury began. Along with about 4 other couples were put into this lovely air conditioned room where we were given iced water and cold towels and there was fresh fruit and pastries if we wanted them. We also got all of the paperwork out of the way before we left. We were then told it was ready to go and this was our transport to the island

It was a 30 min trip to the island and the flight was really good we could see lots of reefs and islands (both deserted and other resorts) and everyone couldn’t wait to see the first glimpse our home for the next 10 nights. Finally I could see our island, and the plane started flying down. They land so much gently than normal planes.

These are some of the first photos that I took once we got off the seaplane

We were greeted by one of the many island hosts who took us along the bridge that connects the 2 islands into the reception where he went through all the things we needed to know, we were given more water and some really yummy lemon sorbet.

There are 2 islands for this resort, the main island has most of the restaurants and all of the beach villas and deluxe beach villas. The other island only has over water villas and 2 restaurants.

Then he took us to our room, showing us things along the way, I nearly died when I saw our room it was just gorgeous.

Now I don't really have heaps to report on most of the time we were except that it was really really relaxing and the most amazing place.

We did a dolphin sunset cruise one night and we got a complimentary sunset cruise on another night and some of the photos I will post will be from Ithaa the underwater restaurant they have.

But the food was amazing, the water was amazing and so warm. The spa was to die for, I managed to go there one afternoon for a facial and a body treatment, it was just bliss.

So I will just post random photos for you to look at.

The main restaurant, which had a sand floor along with the main bar, one of the things they told us when we arrived was to take our shoes off and they said we wouldn't need them again for the whole time we were there, and it was so true, no shoes were worn the whole time we were there !
