Okay girls, lets have a thread that is purely devoted to what your going to have (or did have) muscially for your wedding smile.gif

From the isle to the first dance and anything inbetween

My all time fave wedding song would be
Gorekic by Lamb its beautiful and will be my walking down the isle song or first dance song if and when I ever get to that point biggrin.gif

Good idea! Here goes...

Ceremony (instrumentals played by a classical trio):
Processional - Canon in D (Pachabel)
Registers - Kissing You (Desree)
Recessional - What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong)

Reception (14 piece live band):
Bridal Waltz - A New Day Has Come (Celine Dion)
Father/Daughter Mother/Son dance - I Hope You Dance (Leanne Womack)
Last Dance - You Look Wonderful Tonight (Eric Clapton)
Goodbye Circle - Time of my Life (Dirty Dancing Soundtrack)

Still have a couple more to decide (ie. cake cutting, etc.).

FH has just informed me that he wants "Fields of Gold" (?) by Sting as our Bridal Waltz. Havn't decided on others yets. Our church includes an Organist in it's price so we'll use that for the ceremony.

i am still figuring it out but so far
Bush - Come Down (prolly for walking down aisle)
Deseree - Kissing You (after ceremony complete)

I really love Ewan McGregors version of Your Song

For our first dance i want to have Metallica - Nothing Else Matters

My H2B is a huge Metallica fan and its a gorgeous song (and its a secret!)

but as H2B pointed out the first 3 songs are kind of sad so maybe this will change

I've had it planned in my mind for ages laugh.gif

Walk down aisle - Trumpet Voluntary, perhaps even Air on a G String

Signing Register - Pachelbels Canon in C

Walk back down - dunno yet, maybe Toccata by Widor (tis very hard to play on the organ though)

First dance - Unchained Melody

Seriously thinking of having Take My Breath Away somewhere in there.

Dance with dad - The First Man You Remember from Aspects of Love (its about a father and daughter dancing)

Here's ours:

Ceremony - string quartet
Processional: Air on a G String
Signing: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Recessional: I dunno, I just told them to play something appropriate and at the time didn't take a great deal of notice!

Reception
We didn't worry about special songs for entrances, cake cutting etc ... just whatever happened to be playing at the time. I burned CDs for our reception from our collection (and a few borrowed from friends), so I was happy for whatever was on my 'dinner music' CD to be playing.
Our dance: Come What May (from Moulin Rouge)
Followed by: Signed, Sealed, Delivered (Stevie Wonder) and I Do I Do I Do I Do, I Do!

Just had to say - 3 years ago I was soooo organised and had all these songs picked out for "the" moments where you choose special songs.....now, I'm struggling to remember at all what they were!!

Definately Canon for the walk up the church aisle...

then Bridal Waltz was Nick Cave - Are you the one that I've been waiting for..
Cake - Your Song (had Elton John Version - hubby wouldn't come at the Ewen McGregor one)
Leaving was Green Day - Time of Your Life

Also played our parents Bridal Waltz which was Blue Hawaii by Elvis and Cam's Parents Bridal Waltz which was some Roy Orbison one

As for any others - I have absolutely no idea!!

I do however remember Bob THe Builder was played and recall my nephews etc running around like children possessed whilst that was on.

I spent HOURS last night trawling thru all my CDs for something. I think we have made some decisions. Maybe. Perhaps. Probably... dry.gif

Ceremony - all bagpipes (H2B born in Scotland)
Processional: Skye Boat Song
Register: Laura's Wedding March
Recessional: Scotland the Brave

Reception:
Entrance songs: maybe These Are The Days by Jamie Cullum - not really relevant, but I HAVE to have this song somewhere, I love it
First dance: You Just Get Better All The Time by Tim McGraw, followed by Ain't That Kick In The Head by Robbie Williams (secret song - secret dance lessons??)
Parents dance: not sure if we're doing this yet, might make me cry too much, but we will be have a 'snowball' dance
Cake cutting: not decided, maybe Your Song by Ewan McGregor, or You've Got A Way by Shania Twain
Last dance: Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Leaving circle: Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealers Wheel

Oh, these will probably change, who know....... H2B was so NOT enthusiastic - GRRR!! mad.gif
