Hmmm... I was thinking posie, a small simple one, but after reading all the other posts, maybe it wont work- I'm fairly short and on the 'heavy' side (for now! I'll keep trying!). I honestly never really wanted a 'flash' bouquet as it wouldn't suit my personality. I don't know now!???!!! I'll just worry about that later! smile.gif

I finally chose my flowers and went for a posy bouquet but it has some dangly flowers which gives it a bit of length. It was the cost of a teardrop that put me off it.

I'm having a Sheath bouquet, I'm kind of short and bigger at the bottom so though a posy or teardrop would only add to my width, but a sheath in the crook of my arm or kind of laid upside down the front of my dress would lengthen my figure...

Well there's far too many questions to ask, to answer all of them tonight.
For I wear, too many masks, to tell if any of them are wrong or right.
And confusion casts a shadow upon me, like a great big cloud in the sky.
And now I pray for rain, cause it's been so long since I let myself cry ~

For so long, I've sang this sad ole song. And it feels like my time is up.
For she came and landed in my arms, and she filled my half empty cup.
Now I look up above me
and I thank that Great Old God in the sky, for telling me my cup ain't half empty.

Just took my little girl to show me why ~

my bouquet is going to be a small trail, relatively unstructured...i was worried it would cost more too, but the quote was for $135 and comes with a complimentary throwaway smile.gif

Congrats on making your decision Claudz, I think I'm going the exact same way as you! Posy but with a little bit to lengthen it.

Great choice !!! biggrin.gif

Hi Guys,

a little off the topic, but does anyone know how the tradition of the bouquet started?

I am having a very casual, non-traditional wedding, and I was thinking about doing away with the bouquet all together (having the wedding in a gareden surrounded by flowers anyway), but maybe I should find out a little more about this tradition before scrapping it all together.

Thanks all,

Clair

Someone told me that it's from the old days when people used to bathe very infrequently - the nicely scented flowers were supposed to cover up everyone's body odour ohmy.gif Apparently...

oh and the traditional bouquet or nosegay of herbs and all were a way of warding away the evil spirits..

Either arrangement would look nice, but in the phots you will be able to view the whole arrangement if you choose the tear drop bouquet.

Hey Claudz, just thought I'd let you know that I definately made up my mind, had an appointment with the florist and paid my deposit a couple of weeks ago! I'm going with a posy, but it will have a small trail also, just to give me a bit of length.
