Empress can you believe we walked past the CCF every day but didn't get a chance to eat there once? Quick! I need to go back there!!!

On our first night we had dinner at an Italian restaurant with a view and saw the fireworks they put on weekly at the Hilton Village! It was so lovely of them to celebrate our arrival in such a grand manner laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Hmmn - want me to throw just a photo in here? I don't really want to hijack your thread...
I'll just post one little quickie tongue.gif

The view from our hotel balcony:

Of course I have pics, but like saffire, I don't want to hijack your thread.

We stayed on The Big Island at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort (even further out from the Outrigger where you stayed).

IPB Image

We stayed here for 5 nights and am dissapointed to say that we didn't really enjoy it. The staff were rude, everything was over priced as it was in the middle of nowhere, the resort facilities were crap and the fact that there is no public transport on this island made it very hard to get out as we didn't have a hire car.

Although, the resort grounds were stunning.
This is me in the garden with the Vog (volcanic fog) behind me

IPB Image

We did do a day trip of the Island which was nice and below are some photos:

Our feet at the Black Sand Bech

IPB Image

Me in front of the crater (extinct volcano i can't remember the name of)

IPB Image

Hubby in the Lava Flow (tunnel made from an erruption of lava).

IPB Image

Aaron also fell in love with Bubba Gumps (i think its cause this was the first place he was introduced to 22oz beers!

IPB Image

Aaron on his second... you can tell it's all starting to hit him!!

IPB Image

Now i have overstayed my welcome, no more photos from me!!

Awwww sad.gif Those photos look awesome.

Sorry to hear you didn't like the Sheraton. Yeah we didn't have a car either and felt very 'stranded' but we didn't mind that much as we got to snorkel next door. Also hubby liked the relaxing atmosphere.. it's just one of those places you go to 'get away from it all'. However, on our last day there we did hire a car (as you read).. it felt so good to be able to actually go somewhere else other than Keauhou!!

On Oahu we stayed at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider which made up for it. The service there was impeccable and the staff were all so friendly and helpful, I want the whole world to stay there so they can see how beautiful it is!!!

I agree, we did want to "get away from it all" which is why we decided on the big island and similar to you, i wanted to see all the natural wonders there.

Oh Crap! We should've stayed there instead of the Hilton and if only I'd known I could've met up with you and Chloe smile.gif

That's it! Next time we're going we're definitely staying there. After we walked along Waikiki that was still the one I liked best but hubby wanted to stay in the pink one (The Royal Hawaiian) .. this is a guy.. who wanted the pink one!! hehehehe He said that everyone coming out of there was wearing a pink shirt and he wanted one! laugh.gif

I wish we could've got to see the volcano (damn stupid body) and the black sand beach - Punaluu?

OMG so we were BOTH staying at the same hotel??? How freaking coincidental? However we arrived on the 16th and left on the 23rd so I would have missed both of you bar one or two days...

Candyapple which wing did you stay in? Your photos are simply beautiful btw... Maybe I will feel brave enough to throw a few more photos in here..

Oh and btw, we went to Bubba Gump's twice! We loved the fried shrimp there!!! laugh.gif

Sorry Empress - completely forgot I had posted in here til now!!! I believe that photo was just on a road at the side of Diamond Head - it was one of the lookouts from the road...I could be wrong - we went to so many lookouts!

Your photos are so cool! Every one of them looks familiar! So surreal we were both at the same place around the same time tongue.gif Alex and I went to that DF aquarium as well (he loves all things marine) and walked through that thing...

Candyapple... I think we have the same running shoes laugh.gif

Hehe thanks for coming back.. I was actually going to PM you for the 'answers' cos I was dying to know! smile.gif I reckon that aquarium is pretty impressive for something that is free.. gosh how I'd love to have one of those in my house.. imagine what all the guests would say!

Next time we'll have to do the Diamond Head walk. We were just too lazy or tired.. the last thing I wanted to do was hike!!

Which Luau did you go to?
