I got it in January. I used it for the first time when we went to Whitewater world in the Gold Coast. Yeah they are pretty exxy but my model is old now (about 3 years old) and I got it brand new on ebay (from an actual camera store in Sydney) for half price (because the stores have trouble selling the older models I guess).

LOL Siew laugh.gif

Thanks Cam, yeah they were gorgeous.. I wanted to sneak one home with me.. don't think "Border Security" would like that too much! laugh.gif

Since we booked through Expedia we were invited to attend a 2 for 1 buffet breakfast with "island orientation". Obviously the whole thing was to get us to book a tour with them but even so, the lady gave us a wealth of information and she was lovely to deal with. We were supposed to go our first morning but there was no way I can get up that early. .. but forced myself to get up early the next morning for a 7:45 start. It went on for a long time, finishing at about 9:30.

After that we went and had another nap (yes I need a lot of sleep!) and then went snorkelling again since it was another lovely blue sky day.

Isn't he adorable??

More fish, yay!

4 types of diff fish in one photo - wow, I'm getting the hang of this underwater photography thing! laugh.gif

Oh and if you're wondering why the water is so murky they say it's cos of the sunscreen sad.gif I'm proud to say I didn't add much to it though, I only had it on my face. I wore a long sleeve rash vest and didn't put any on my legs... then I ended up with a white bikini-shaped triangular patch on my butt and burnt pink legs and back all around that 'triangle'! sad.gif

HeyEmpy!!!!

I haven't had time to read thru the text, so apologies if you've already mentioned, but just wondering how the Jetstar flight to and from Hawaii were? We've booked and paid for ours through jetstar.

Can't wait to go now!!!

Hi Ronnie!!

Well to be honest it wasn't that different from Qantas except you had to purchase your meals, video units, blankets etc if you wanted them.

The video units are cool. You can put it on your tray table or the hostess showed me a way to wedge it in between the seat in front of you's headrest and head cushion thingy. But it only works if the seat in front of you is reclined, as the angle on the LCD screen may make it unwatchable.

Because of the purchasing business, the time it takes to serve the food takes much longer, since they have to make sure they are giving the pre-paid people their meals, and not giving other people meals unless they so happen want to purchase one on the spot. It's cheaper to pre-purchase though.

Another thing is (nothing to do with Jetstar though) You are not allowed to "congregate" around the toilets so if they see more than 2-3 people in the toilet waiting area they say you have to go back to your seat. It's yet another security rule for all flights in/out of the US.

I can't really think of anything else to say!! the food standard is about the same as I've experienced on any airline and has quite a good variety.

The seats are leather and about as comfy as you'll ever get in economy.

The staff are really nice and helpful.

Hey Empress,

Love all your pics!

We're hoping to go back eventually too (Mum's from there so have family there - which is also good for free accommodation!) and your posts are making me so jealous!

Looks like you had such a memorable honeymoon!

Actually it's funny you mention that. When we were flying there and both got up to use the toilet (and wait in the queue) Hubby was like "Remember that scene from Just Married?" and we both laughed.. that scene where they are getting it on in the toilet and the hostess comes over and she gets wacked in the face by the door, then at the end of the film when they are flying back home she's there again with bruises and stuff, and a really pissed off look on her face!

BTW are you ordering anything?

You're going in Dec or Jan right?? You have to go to the Pipeline, as that's the time when the waves are mega huge smile.gif

Ooh you lucky thing Jessmay!! Hotels are exxy, but only cos of the exchange rate really.. oh and that @#$## tax which is never added into anything.

12 March cont'd

We went back to our room after snorkelling to get a shower and changed and stuff and ready to catch the shuttle bus to the Sheraton where we had booked Luau.

I ummed and erred about where to do this and we don't have much time once we got back to Honolulu and all the main/good ones are a bit out from Waikiki... so we got our Expedia activities desk to book us a Luau for the Sheraton about 3-4km away (not 2).

We arrived and the place was massive! But we still liked ours better. It was just this mammoth complex. They had a lot of pools or maybe just one big one including a big twirly waterslide for the kids. Whilst our hotel was located at the beach, theirs was located in a Bay and the water was more rough.

We were early and didn't know where to go, there weren't any signs anywhere so we walked around aimlessly. I peered out the window of one of the rooms and said to hubby "Hey look, there's another wedding down there!" and he's like "erm.. I think that's our Luau." Oh. ohmy.gif laugh.gif

Woohoo indeed! The blankets ("amenity pack") are really good value I thought - you get a blanket, eye mask, neck rest, and toothbrush for around $9 and you get to keep it all. We didn't get it though.
