Do you think that if I leave it a little longer that maybe some better packages will become available?

Not meaning to scare you honey but I was at the travel agency paying for our honeymoon about 2 weeks ago and Jan/Feb next year is starting to be a really busy time. My plane is already full going to Bali!!!! And we are leaving on the 26th Jan - only 2 weeks before you leave!!! She was saying it is a lot of places that are fulling up fast. It might be different out of Melbourne but it would be worth looking in too - just get your travel agent to check availability to be on the safe side.

It is your honeymoon and if you look at it this way, it is only an extra $1000 more to go to a place where you are hubbie want to go!!! You could always have two registries one bridal and one honeymoon (most travel agencies do them now) - gives people a choose and it might make it a lot easier you guys financially that some people contribute to the honeymoon. This way you guys get to go somewhere you really want to go and you might stick to your $2000 budget this way - it is worth thinking about. Just say people put more money on it, they deposit the extra amount into your bank account and you will have extra spending money.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

You're totally right, what's $1,000 when it comes to your honeymoon ... NOTHING !!!

Emma, I'd love some recommendations on where to stay in on Sunshine Coast ... is the weather there appropriate in February or will it rain a lot?
Nothing too over the top though, we don't really wanna spend any more than $1,500 for airfares and accomodation.
We had a big talk last night and decided that we'd rather have that extra money to spend in Europe ... I've always dreamed of going to countries like Italy and Greece (where my parents came from), and my fiancee moved here from Croatia when he was 12 and hasn't been back there since like 1994, so he's really homesick and hasn't seen close family for 10 years. So, as you can see ... it's really an easy decision for us.

Hope to hear from you soon smile.gif
Thanks for your help and advice!

Hi Nat - it me again!!!

Have a look on the Vi$g$n Blue website they have great deals to the Sunshine Coast - in the Blue Holidays area. My friend and her partner are going to the Sunshine Coast for 6 nights staying at the Be@ch Club (which looks great on the web) in October this year, airfares, accommodation and breakfast each day is costing at grand total of $490 each - which a bargain. It is worth looking into. The price is from Sydney but I can't see it being much more from Melbourne.. She booked this package through Fli&ght Cen$re - booked through Blue Holidays.

Hope this helps..

OMG Peta that package sounds AMAZING !!! I'll have to check out the website ... that sounds much more healthy for our budget biggrin.gif

We are a little disappointed as we both were really looking forward to a week in Vanuatu, but oh well, we'll be upset for a little while but it will all be worth it when I'm shopping in Milan and sunbaking on the Greek Islands gazing into the Adriatic Sea laugh.gif

Greek Island will so make up for missing out on Vanuatu!!!

Just remember aswell that Vanuatu will always be there - you could always plan a trip there in a couple of years - maybe a anniversary present to you both!!! a second honeymoon!!!!

Good thinking Peta, you can never go on too many holidays!
Europe could have waited, but we are both DYING to go so badly, so it can't wait, lol laugh.gif Plus, we will be trying for kids about 18 months after the wedding, and know once we have a baby that it'll be at least another 6 years after that before we wanna travel all the way to Europe with small kids!
