I don't think you would need more sides than that - remember you can have more than one photgraph on each page. Just remember not to overdo the number of pictures. Essentially you want to create a narrative, something beginning and ending with both of you. I don't think the main album should be too big... you can create other albums anyway.
Best of luck with your decision and wedding!

Our photographer said that most of his clients had between a 24 to 28 page album.

A normal album he did had a minimum of

1p titlepage
2p groom at location shoot (coffee etc)
2p bride getting ready
1-2 p groom pre ceremony
1-2p bride arrival
2-4p ceremony (could be more)
2p family group shots
2p guest mingle shots ceremony
4p couple and bridal party shots
2p reception and cake shots
1p ending photo on last page

Total 20 -24 pages

He remimded us that most of his clients wanted the album to tell a story so that the photos on any open page flowed and weren't clashing in themes. That is why most of his clients and two pages each for the getting ready section and the pre-ceremony/arrival photos.

We are getting the "popular" package from our photographer and its costing us $1650. It Includes:
*photogarphers time
*up to 5 locations
*Preview approx 200 (13 x 18cm) proofs
*11 inch wedding album and pages (gorgeous)
*45 photos (13 x 18cm) in the album
*12 x 16 inch framed enlargement.
( we get to keep all the photos he takes and a master cd is $200)

He also said if we pay him cash, he'll "look after us" with some extras.
He is a brilliant "contemporary" photographer who came highly recommended from a good friend who used to work with him. Perhaps offer to pay cash to see if it will attract a discount??
Good luck,
Christy xx

Oh gee. I wish our package was around $2,000. I mean I think that would be darn PLENTY.

We've paid a non refundable deposit now though ($500) and it would probably be too late to find someone else and we do like the photographer's style...

Live and learn new members...live and learn

This happened cos I only investigated the photographers in the local bridal mag. They very distinctly fell into 2 categories- fantastic and sh*te house. Needless to say the fantastic ones were all around $3-$5K.

The whole photography thing is certainly a thing that you should investigate and also set a budget to. I wish that I had of done my homework a little bit more but I got married in a small country town and didn't think that I could have got any better. I think that I was wrong and I now have my proofs (no mention of an album). All prints are copyrighted that I cannot copy myself (little does he know) and the reprints are expensive!

The best advice that I can give is do you homework girlies and learn by our mistakes!
