Itl be my second time to the USA, but i love flying. Im really looking forward to the flight, i dont know why, maybe im weird laugh.gif .

Depending on what airline you fly with will depend on the experience i think. Air NZ were great as you had your own little tv and you could choose what y wanted to watch, so the time flew, litererly. biggrin.gif This time we are flying united airlines, and i have read mixed reiews about their long haul flights, so im interested to see how it goes.

Im going to be that stuffed i think ill sleep all the way there anways. Our flight leaves at like 9am or something, so we will have to be at the airport at about 7 or 8 (domestic to sydney 1st). We leave the day after the wedding so yah ill be dead to the world!

Who are you flying with rosi?

Rosi I know how you feel, I have wanted to go overseas as long as I can remember, and it;s hard to believe its actually happening!

I"m really edgy in confined spaces too, flying doesn't worry me, it's claustrophobia. I tend to get panic attacks, so I'm still deciding on whether or not to get drugs. I think I"ll be so tired from all the wedding build up that I'll just crash once we are up there. Might just need the rescue remedy.

Second time, that's great. If you're looking forward to the flight, maybe it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be dry.gif I'll be bringing my ipod & snack food to wast the time, and hopefully catch a few winks too.

We're flying with Qantas direct from Syd, but the transfers, I don't know ohmy.gif I'll have to find out!!

Our flight is two days after at about 9am too, but I live 5 mins from the airport, so I won't have to wake up at the crack of dawn.

When will you be travelling?

Jaclyn, I'm like that too! I get really frustrated and fidgety if I have to sit still for long periods of time.

I remember the first time I flew, every sound, every shake, I honestly thought we were going to crash (how sad!). rolleyes.gif

Definitely taking sleeping pills, I won't be able to relax if I don't.

You're right about being tired after the wedding though, but then, how excited will you be knowing that you're going on the best holiday biggrin.gif

We're flying with Qantas, but I'm not sure about the transfers, probably UA.

When will you be travelling??

Rosi - we are flying QANTAS too, and internal transfers in the US are with UA. You can get your frequent flyers with them too.

We fly out on the 7th of march, 4 days after the wedding, at about lunch time, so we won't have to be there too early, there's no way I"ll be able to sleep the night before!

That's awesome & so exciting biggrin.gif 4 days after is ideal, as you'll have recovered (well, should have!) from the wedding and have the energy to enjoy yourselves.

Id love to have left 4 days after the wedding! We tried but it was going to cost some stupid amount of money more to do it, and the flight was even earlier than the one we have got, which is way early enough! ohmy.gif

We thought about flying qantas, i cant remember why we didnt tho....

We went out and bought some new luggage, as last time, my FH's bag got ruined. Its really no wonder luggage comes back working at all, considering how roughly they are treated!

So we are all set now, we get all our travel doc's in i think 3 weeks or so, so i cant wait to have it all in my hands! rolleyes.gif

We have to pay for it by Feb 1st tho, so that will clean out the account... dry.gif

Sounds like you're all organised!

We've got two days before we fly out so I'll have time to pack and get everything organised.

Luggage- that reminds me, I'll probably have to buy some too ohmy.gif You're right about it getting ruined though, it's so expensive and it just gets trashed!!

Money money money, it's going out quicker now that it's coming in!! Getting closer to the Wedding, there's all these things that have to be paid, UURRGGHHH!!!

Wow, thats alot all at once!!

I have to do the same with my parents soon. They've said they'll give us cash as a present for the Wedding, which we've already allocated to the Honeymoon. We don't even have it in our hands and it's gone!!

To be honest though, I've been quite proud of myself for sticking to our budget so far. I've not gone OTT with the Wedding. We're not showy people, and I want the Wedding to be a reflection of us.

I've (not saying we've, coz FH really hasn't had much say in anything, which is the way he wants it!!) opted for a romantic theme filled with flowers, lace & soft tones of cream/champagne/soft pink & musk.

On the other hand, my sister is getting married in mar08 and is already organising hot pink BM dresses with pink lace inserts in hers!!! But, that exactly reflects who she is!! laugh.gif

How are your plans coming along??

I wish I could decide on table centrepieces! It would be easier if we were made of money and could just go crazy, but we are on a tight budget too, the credit cards have to have a $0 balance on them when we go to the USA coz we need them over there!

Hopefully our parents will be helping us out now that it is so close, and we are now having to pay things off.

What table centre pieces do you have to choose from? Doesn't your reception centre provide them for you?

I know what you mean about the money, at least you know where it's all going and it's allocated sensibly.

I am so not organised when it comes to the wedding lol. ohmy.gif

Honeymoon - yeah its sorted cause Fh really didnt have to do much about that. But getting him to get his suit fitting done, and ask his brother to be MC - thats another thing. I cant believe we are now 6 weeks out and time is seriously flying, its rather scary! huh.gif

We still have the cake to organise, have to meet with the MC again, order decorations for the reception, make placecards etc, meet with photographer, go out to see location for ceremony again, and the list goes on....

We did however order our rock candy today, so thats good its out of the way! Should look good hopefully. rolleyes.gif

I dont know how we are going to be able to afford to eat and buy stuff in america, it will be interesting to see how we go. Just as well there are heaps of cheap food places in the places we are going.... biggrin.gif

Suits- I want to start looking now, but FH has booked out weekends until beginning of March, which is when I'll need my first dress fitting. I only physically need him around for a couple of things, but he's so busy!!

6 weeks, you must be so excited biggrin.gif I can't wait, and I've still got 7 months to go.

At least with the last minute details you'd have a pretty good idea by now of what you're looking for, which should make the job easier?

I'm seriously trying to palm off as much as I can!! I tried to do the invites (and my lil sis too), and I got so sick of wasting time (I'm not very creative) that I decided to pay someone to do them for me. The only thing I have to do is photocopy the insides of the order of service booklets for the church & tie them up to the covers with ribbon.

The rock candy sounds like a great idea!! So many people now are moving towards edible gifts. We've decided on chocolates (FH took them all home and his sisters wedding coz the guests left them behind!)

I've heard the food is cheap in USA too. Just don't go crazy if you know that you don't have the funds to pay the credit card when you get back. Nothing worse than if you spend up big and have to stress yourselves out about the bill!!

Where are you getting married? How many people are you expecting?? What's your dress like??

Sorry for all the questions, but I love to hear about other people's ideas too smile.gif

We are having about 50 - 60 people so its only small compared to most but thats all we wanted.

We are getting married at a private garden called Brindabella, and its good cause they set it all up for us, the chairs, table, flowers down the aisle etc, should be really nice.

Brindabella Country Gardens

Having the reception at The Toowoomba City Golf club, and the lady there seems very professional so it should also be good hopefully!

How about you? Tell me about your wedding...!! biggrin.gif

You're dress is beautiful!! I've seen it in magazines but red. The detail in the embroidery is gorgeous. Even if you don't think it's 100% you're only seeing yourself in it 'half done'. On your wedding day you'll be all made up and looking like a princess.

The gardens are gorgeous, what a nice setting and backdrop for your photos.

Sounds to me like you've got it all organised, and just a spectalur romantic, country garden theme smile.gif

I wish we had such small numbers!! We've got 230 on the guest list!! (italian & greek wedding).

Getting married in a Greek Orthodox Church and reception close by called Venus Reception. We'd been there once before (never knew it existed), and it's so simple but elegant. Not overdone at all with white and mahogany walls, just nice.

Here's my dress. It is sooo opposite to what I thought I'd be wearing. I wanted a big ball gown, but it did nothing for my figure, made me look frumpy, so, with a few extra kg's lost I should be able to wear this one and look good in it. I'm getting it made by a family friend, so there'll be changes here and there:
