Tortoise - i LOVE hearing your stories about Hong Kong because they remind me so much of my time in Singapore. I don't know how you deal with it and run a business over there. You must have so much patience.

I remember I used to work from home in Singapore and my computer went wrong. I called this company who sent me a technical expert and three times they sent me someone who walked into my office, saw it was a mac and turned round to go because they didn't know macs. Each time, I clearly explained that I had a mac on the phone and they assured me they'd send someone who knew about them. The fourth time someone came, he looked at my computer, told me he didn't realise it was a mac so couldn't help and I was so frustrated and angry I ran out my office door and locked the technician in it and told him he wasn't coming out til he fixed my computer! I rang his company and told them that either he had to fix it or they had to send someone round who was a mac expert and that I wasn't releasing the guy until my computer was working again. I mean, honestly, that it the sort of behaviour you get driven to in Asia!!!!

How long have you got to go? Can't believe you've got furniture. It must be close. can't you put all the furniture up and leave any obvious boy things until he's born? Any names yet?

I wouldn't worry about Lily and Ryan not being toilet trained. I reckon it's over rated! Stella has been "toilet trained" for months and months now and every single day she wets herself. I wish I'd kept her in nappies!

Anyone else's child obsessed with clothes? Stella is driving me nuts. She only wants to wear glittery/twirly dresses and high heeled dress up shoes. She doesn't want to wear anything sensible to school and it's a battle to dress her every day. I got her some new shoes at the weekend. She wants to sleep in them every night! When I go in to check on her before bed every night, she's sleeping in full clothes and shoes that she's got up and put on herself. It's exhausting!

Great news about Keira! That must be the best news ever. What's the long term prognosis Bec? Good on you for going back to study again by the way. What type of job will you look for?

It's nutty here. First of all, I am so sick I can't tell you. I thought it was easing off but today I have constant watery mouth. I'll get the C bands this weekend cos I'm dreading the smells in Delhi.

We are leaving Saturday 14th. Plan is to go for two months but already that has been extended to three months. Get this. In order to keep our childcare places open, we have to pay for the three months we are away ($630 a week) even though the girls aren't using them and even though the centre is selling them on to someone else. It's so frustrating.

My husband has found us somewhere to live and the girls daycare places. They will be the only ex pat in it so I'm hoping it won't be too stressful for them to be with different people, new friends and eating different foods etc. I'm dreading they are going to get ill all the time. Apparently you even have to sterilise vegetables before you eat the over there. GAWD!

We all had our immunisations yesterday. I still feel like I've got a dead arm today from my typhoid! the girls aren't old enough to have malaria tablets and I'm pregnant so can't have them either so I'm thinking there's a high chance we'll all get malaria too, considering it's rainy season. All good! smile.gif

I am booked in for my scan on Friday 13th. What a day! I'll be 11 weeks and 3 days. Will they be able to tell me the sex then or is it too early? Tortoise, I'm sure you found out at 12 weeks. I'm preparing myself for another girl. Nothing we can do about it now! blink.gif

Can't wait for my husband to get back tonight. Feels like I'm going stir crazy in this house on my own. he doesn't know it yet but I'm off to a high tea with my friends then hockey on saturday so he's got a day of looking after the girls on his own.

Better get back to work. Bye for now!

Jen, that's a brilliant story about the computer technican. When I had my desk delivered, the delivery people damaged it, just a small chip but enough for my anal eyes to notice. They tried to just touch it up with some paint which looked awful. I rang the company and they promised to send round their most senior repairman to fix the problem. He turned up with a minature pot of paint and a pen knife. That was it. He smeared the paint onto the chip with his knife and asked for some kitchen roll to wipe of the excess paint!! I was livid! Honestly I could tell you stories that would make your hair curl. Everything here is "cannot" or they've already got the answer to what they think is the question! Frustrating but after 10 years I'm use to it, well a bit!

That's daylight robbery at the nursery, can you not fight them to pay 50% That's really really cheeky. Dehli belly, think of the weight loss laugh.gif I've been to Dehli years ago. Some people love India, I've never really stayed there long enough to form an opinion.

I don't think in Oz they'll tell you the sex at 12 weeks. Although they might be able to see, they might not want to tell you! Here in Hong Kong they obviously don't care what they tell you! So will you have to have your 20 week scan in India?

I'm 29 weeks this Saturday but only have 10 weeks to go tmw! Yikes, it's happening way too fast. And no still can't come up with a name. Hubby likes Ethan but I'm really not keen. Lily wants to call the baby Jelly!

Stella is a scream, sort of thing Lily would do. They're crackers at this age! Lily isn't too bothered about clothes in fact she hates wearing any. As soon as she comes home or goes round anyone's house she wants to remove her shoes and pants! She walks round in a t-shirt and knickers! I tried to put a dress on her the other day, she wouldn't have it and kept trying to pull it off. She's such a tomboy. She's getting a Jessie cowgirl outfit for her birthday. I have no idea what else to get her. Any ideas? I've seriously got no room to buy anything too big.

Hope the sickness improves and enjoy your high tea
x

Tortoise - 10 weeks is nothing! How are you feeling? when are you going to go on maternity leave or will you work right up to it? How long will you have off? It must be hard when it's your own company.

At least your husband comes up with names! everything I suggest mine just says "nah!" to but doesn't actually come up with any himself.

I don't think they will tell me the sex at this scan but I'm going to ask them anyway! I'll only be 11 weeks 3 days so unlikely they'll be able to see anyway. Cracks me up they tell you in Honkers!

How is everyone? Where is everyone? Julz, you're unusually quiet!

Things are mad here. Saturday I went shopping to buy a load of Mettalicus stuff for pregnancy. Lovely! then I went for high tea with some girl friends which was great (but sad I couldn't drink the champagne) then I played hockey and scored two goals so all round a good day. My husband claimed he had Delhi belly and was to sick to stay at home looking after the girls on his own but I went out anyway, on the grounds that I feel like that and have to put up with it every day anyway! biggrin.gif

Sunday we were meant to do loads of stuff in preparation for going away but it was a gorgeous sunny day so we ended up walking along the beach and having lunch with friends instead. Now I'm a bit panicky about how much I've got to do plus fitting in all my work before I take two weeks off.

Tortoise - we're flying business class which is really freaking me out. It's one thing having two screaming tantrumy kids in economy, but how peed off will the other people be if the girls are like that in BC??? Any tips? Stella has her seat so I'm not too worried about her because she'll watch Peppa Pig for 16 hours but Audrey is just a fidget and it's a day flight so she won't be sleeping. I can't even get drunk to make things better!!!

Right O. better get back to the excitement of my work....

hi everyone
sorry i've been so quiet! things have been pretty busy here.

my hubby is still working away his last stint was a fortnight away! god let me tell you he's lucky he had a daughter when he got home! i seriously thought i was going to loose it at her and to top it off one saturday morning after a awful night with Hunter i woke up at 7.30am to a lady knocking on my door returning my daughter!! yes she woke up and said she couldn't find me - never mind the fact i was laying in the bed right beside her so she got up and went looking for her! I was obviously so exhausted from being up all night with Hunter i didn't hear the door or anything god i was mortified and so embarssed! thankfully the lady stopped her and bought her back home! we were living in a complex so pretty safe but still OMG!!

we've moved house we are back in a decent sized place and i feel so much better and so much happier i was going crazy in that tiny place so i'm pretty happy at hte moment! My sister and her family will be here in a few weeks and then my parents in October so really looking forward to those visitors

Summer is being an absolute brat! she is seriously driving me crazy i thought she had come good but she seems to be going backwards again. I think it may have something to do with my hubby working away again! she won't let him do anything for her screams and carries on and is so naughty for him! she's cheeky to both of us and has started smacking us again! she seriously drives me crazy i live for Thursday and Friday when she's in care! and whinge omg if i swear it's all she does arrgh i can't stand it and nothing will make her stop she just goes on and on and on!!

Hunter is going well he's teething atm so poor little thing is a bit unsettled but otherwise he's good he's a bit of a chubber now so cute!! I love little babies really don't like toddlers much i've decided!!

Jen sounds like things are moving very quickly for you are you excited about India? I can't believe daycare is making you pay that's just crazy i wouldn't be happy either

how did your scan go? I hope it's a boy this time fingers crossed for you!

Kye i will look you up on facebook biggrin.gif

Tortoise ten weeks wow has gone so fast! boys names are so hard i think. Will any of your family come over when the baby is born?

Hi girls

Cripes! We've arrived. Cows everywhere, pigs outside the kitchen window, driving is crazy - no lanes or indicators just a complete free for all; beggars at your window the second you stop in the traffic, 40 degrees - it's fantastic! blink.gif

The sickiness has ramped up since I got here and the worse thing is, eating is the only thing that cures it and there's nothing to eat here! Seriously, the supermarkets are dire. God knows what I'm going to feed the girls for the next three months. They can't eat biscuits much longer! I've been to four different supermarkets and they're all like something out of a war zone - about three items on the shelf covered in dust. Was so excited to see some crisps yesterday until I realised they were masala flavour. GAWD!

Scan went fine. Little baby was just gorgeous and right size and lovely. Doc was 80% sure it's a girl and I know this makes me a really bad person but I cried when I found out! I was gutted!! I'm over it now because let's face it, there's not a lot I can do about it but I never saw myself as a mother of three girls and I don't know how much more twirling, lala laaing and screaming at high pitch I can take!!

Off to find a hospital here today so I can organise my 20 week scan. English is pretty poorly spoken here and seeing as I speak no Hindi, it could be an experience.

Julz - glad you are in a new home and feeling happier. No advice about Summer other than to say I have been there with Stella and it's so painful! She has reduced me to tears many times with her naughtiness and tantrums!! I do think Dad being away makes a difference. Can you get her into more childcare days? ph34r.gif

Better get showered. Seems to be a power cut (cold water only) every morning about this time so need to get in and out before it happens.

Chat soon

Jen

Hi girls,

Julz, good to hear from you. Glad you're happier in your new house. Honestly Lily is impossible to deal with most days! It must be an age thing? I thought she was getting better until we decided to go away for the night last weekend. We were having a lovely lunch round by the hotel pool until Lily started spitting! She was sat in the hotel reception licking the chairs like a dog and then at breakfast she was making sounds like she had a fur ball in the back of her throat every time I tried to give her food. She came very close to be being smacked! I don't know why I bother taking her out, she can't behave. Scary that Summer made an early morning escape. I've still got Lily in a cot. I wonder how long I can keep her in her cot until I get reported for cruelty!!!!

Jen, can't believe you have arrived! How was the journey, did the girls behave? There's still a 20% chance that it could be a boy!! I like the idea of 3 girls. At least there's some really pretty girls names! And think of the money you will save on clothes! Hope you find some food soon! Surely there must be a good supermarket somewhere, let's hope so! Is there any expat organisation you can join? The begging is pretty bad, I had the some problems when I was India, I even saw someone having a poop at a bus stop! All a bit of an eye opener! Do you have a car or driver? Will you be working? Hope you get settled soon.

I had a 4d scan yesterday, what a waste of time and money. The baby was covering his face with his arms and hands. They tried to get him to move but no luck. It looked so weird in 4d, there were bits everywhere, looked like the baby had been in a blender!!! I got my blood results from the gluclose test and I'm borderline. I've got to go back on Friday for a full test. Hope it's not because all the ice lollies I've been eating!!
Apart from that all good. Not long now. I have finally managed to sell the office furniture, just need to plaster and paint the room and I'll be prepared. I am worried that time is just flying by, especially when I heard this morning that a friend had her baby 5 weeks early! Hope to god I don't go early!

What's everyone getting their critters for their birthday. I've got no clue!!!

Tortoise - you crack me up. I'd be in stitches if I saw Lily licking the back of chairs. biggrin.gif

I only moved Stella out of a cot because Audrey came along. Otherwise, she'd still be in one too.

The 4D scans are freaky. Audrey looked like a melted crunchie bar when we saw her so I don't think we'll bother with this one. I'm over girls clothes! Im over pink and twirls and Peppa friggin pig. I want a boy!

Anyway - moving on!

Business class was amazing. First time I've been in it and it's the only way to go I reckon! Stella sat by me and was a darling except she had headphones on wathcing Peppa pig on the laptop and every time the hostess went past would shout "Where's my juice?" like some prima donna. Most embarrassing. We managed to squash Audrey into a bassinet but the journey was quite turbulent so my husband had to have her on his lap most of the way and she didn't sleep much. To be honest, it was bitter sweet cos I was desperate to use the flat bed and sleep but couldn't because I was always looking after one of the girls.

Went tot he hospital yesterday. What a palava! There was at least a million people there all crowding round the three of us and Audrey had a fever and was screaming non stop for three hours so I decided to get her to a doctor (all docs are based at hospitals) and he diagnosed her with a virral infection in her throat. ANOTHER one! I'm sure I have the most sickly baby. Appt and medicine together cost $10. I have an appointment with a gyney in two weeks time.

Haven't joined any groups yet. When the girls start daycare in a week or so Im back to full time work so not sure I'll have time. As for the toilet issue, they just stand at the side of the road peeing! Think a live poo may tip me over the edge wacko.gif

Did you go early last time? I seem to remember you had a booked in C section a week or so early. Will you do that again?

Hi girls

Firstly, need to apologise for being such a complete selfish cow about wanting a boy when I know you girls have been through so much with lost babies and poorly ones.

A good friend of mine is due the same day as me and she just had her 12 week scan where they discovered a 4mm nuchal fold. Made me feel terrible for being such a complete idiot when all that matters is a healthy baby. ph34r.gif Her CVS test results came back negative which is good so she just needs to wait for a 16 week scan to test for heart defects.

Hmmm. Just ordered a pizza.

Me: Can I order a pizza please.
Them: Certainly Maam. What flavour.
Me: Margerita, extra mushrooms and chillies.
Them: Ok, 50 minutes. Thank you. goodbye.
Me: Hold on! Hold on! Don't you want my address?

Line dead.

Brrrr brrrrr

Me: Oh hi, I just ordered a pizza but nobody took my address.
Them: Certainly. What did you order?
Me: Margerita, extra mushrooms and chillies.
Them: No problem Maam. On its way.

Line dead.

And so on and so on until I finally got onto someone who would take my address. It's meant to be here in 10 minutes.

Chances?!

Evening girls....

Jen, don't worry honey, no need to apologise. When I found out I was having a boy it took me a while to get use to it. I wanted two girls! Swap???!!!
How's Audrey is any better?
Are you now eating pizza?!!!
How's life in India, getting easier, obviously not from the pizza saga!

Lily is mad on Peppa Pig as well, she just wants to jump in muddy puddles. When she spills water, she puts on her wellies and jumps up and down in an inch of water! My mum sent her Peppa Pig knickers!

I didn't go early last time, Lily came on her due date. I was waiting to go natural but she was heading sideways rather than down so I opted for a c-section. I also think at the time I was over it and the heat was killing me!!! This time I've been booked in at 39 weeks. Can't believe I've only got 7 weeks left this Friday. Holy crap, I'm so not ready.

The office furniture has finally left the building. The delivery company came to pick it up on Sunday, the buyer organised the pick up, they only sent one guy to take an L shaped desk and cupboards. Not sure how he thought he was going to lift them up 4 flights of stairs. 50 minutes later, many phone calls and looking blankly at the desk, he drafted in a friend to help.
Now I've just got to arrange to get one of the walls plastered and the room painted.

R u doing freelance work in India? Are you staying in an apartment? Will your hubby have to go anywhere else in the world for work. Come to HK!

Bec, hope is well with you and the kiddies.

I wonder if Tetra has had her baby yet, it must be due soon.
Has anyone heard from Kat?

I'm trying to organise Lily's birthday party, are you girls having parties? I've no clue what to buy her. I've only bought her a doctor's kit so far. Any ideas welcome! Can you believe they're about to turn 3!

Well I best go and tidy up and head to bed.
x

don't be silly it's a valid feeling that you really did want a boy so don't feel bad i think we all understand!

Tortoise - Summer is getting a bike for her birthday another dora doll and a toy kitchen! we are having a party this year cause last year we never cause we were travelling! she wants a dora party! everything is dora here or tinkerbell!

my sister and her family are here in a couple of weeks i can't wait! we ar taking them to airlie beach for afew night and out on a reef tourer which has snorkelling, a waterslide off the side of the boat, swimming enclosures, glass bottom boat etc it's going to be great i can't wait except i have to wear my bathers that's not a good look believe me!! we are also going to townsville for a few days and will have summer's party while they are here to so busy times ahead!

my hubby is working heaps still he's been doing ten on four off! such a crappy roster and at the moment is doing 16 straight!! so he can have some days off while my sister is here otherwise he would only have been home for two days while they are hiere! so i will probably be insane by the time he gets back!

Hi ladies, still here! Sorry I haven't posted in here for such a long time, I just haven't had any time. I had our daughter Isabella on the 31st August at 5:38pm and she weighed 3.36kg and was 49cm. I was 10 days overdue so I was induced. This labour was so much more painful than Jacks but was a bit shorter at 8 hrs long.
She's doing great now, feeding okay (BF) but I've had to top her up with formula. I'm finding the BF hard so I may go to formula full time soon. We are moving next Thursday into our new house on the Central Coast so I'm very busy!
Anyway, talk soon, Love Julie xo
