Finally i have some good news.

On Christmas Eve, Steve proposed to me again..... and I have said YES!!!!

I am over the moon, cause now i know more than ever, that what ever happens in our lives we are always going to love each other and by by each others side. Nothing and Nobody is going to stand in our way this time!

We originally were going to have a BIG Hunter Valley wedding, but now we were thinking about having something much smaller. Any suggestions?????

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Years!

YAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you!!! That is the best news I have heard in a while...

Personally I think the wedding you really want but inviting only those that truely support you two being together.
How is Steve going to limit his mums impact on you?

Thanks StephO

Steve is just limiting the time he spends with them, they have already noticed the difference and have said that they are going to make an effort the mend the bridges. My family on the other hand still want nothing to do with Steve and me (so it seems) but we are not loosing any sleep over it. neither of our families know about our RE - engagement!

I'm so excitted - i want to PARTY!!!!!!!!!~!!

Big Congrats! Thats wonderful news!

Having had trouble with my in-laws (or should I say out-laws), I would suggest a small wedding with only those you really want to be there. We dropped our wedding from 54 people to 19 because of Damo's parents - and I wouldn't have had it any other way on the day!!

You could still have a Hunter Valley wedding - but make it a smaller one! Many of the vineyards allow small groups to go through without having to book the whole place out, so you could easily have the wedding in one of the vineyards?

The Hunter Valley also has heaps of really nice gardens that you could look into just having the ceremony in and then going to a nice restaurant and booking just for the people you need - my 19 people fit on one table, and our guests loved it - it was like having everyone at the head table, and it saved us getting up and walking around too (plus we were able to put Damo's parents at one end and my parents at the other - my parents were really annoyed at his parents for giving us such a hard time).

Anyway, its really good to hear that you and your H2B are engaged (again) and that you two are as strong as ever (if not stronger) because of this. Its great that he's stood by you in all of this - there aren't too many guys out there like him, so be sure to hang on to him!! : )

Good Luck with everything anyway - Weddings are supposed to be happy occasions, but there are many people these days who don't believe its about the Bride and Groom anymore - but the parents! Sadly, Weddings (and Funerals) bring out the best and worst in people.

THAT'S ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC NEWS! Yes, I'm shouting, that's just so wonderful that you two were able to finally have some positive news!
I have no ideas about where or when or anything like that but I am just so happy for you. Congratulations!

Thanks Ladies. It is good to know that someone is happy for us. I just told the girls at work and they all looked at me as if I were stupid!

Our wedding will def. be much smaller, mainly cause our parents will not be paying anymore!! sad.gif so we will have to have what we can afford, which at the moment isnt much!

We have been dicussing the possiblity of having it the same place (Wyndham Estate) we had booked, just with smaller numbers and a cocktail style food. this would save us at least $20,000.

Hi Lisa

I just read your whole thread and I'm thrilled that you and FH are back together again. I hope the wedding planning goes smoothly and that FMIL keeps her nose out of your business! I hope your family comes around so they can share this special day with you.

Wishing you every happiness.

Hey I am so sorry to hear what you have gone through and part way through was thinking don't be stupid girl you love the man, don't let her win - I am glad to hear the saga has got a happy ending.

In regards to your family and his family not supporting you, that still sucks but think of just how many men would have chosen mummy and know that in him you have a family that will stand by you through anything which is even better than one that puts altermatums on there love and support.

I am so happy for you

I was talking with my parents yesterday, cause it was my Dad's birthday, and they have said that are coming to visit Steve and I next weekend cause they want to talk to the both of us! I tried to get some more information out of them as to what their visit was about, but they wouldnt say! I hope that it is a positive visit, but i cant help but be really worried about what they have to say (especially to FH) I dont want to have high hopes cause i dont think i could handle the disappointment of this not going well IYKWIM! they have hurt me enough as it is.

I so hope your parent's visit is positive. Would it be worth ringing them up and saying, you are more than welcome to visit but only if you have positive things to say?

Let us know how it goes...

Yeah, I have asked them if it a positive visit and they wouldn't say, all they have said is that they want to speak to both Steve and I. I told them that it was only fair that i check if it is ok with Steve first, as they have said that he is not welcome in their home but they have just gone and invited themselves into ours. Steve said he was fine with it, as i have confronted his family on many occassions. ( i was secretly hoping he didnt want them to come) I am just uneasy about the whole thing and their motives. I have just got that worried, sick feeling from my tummy that I have had for months and now this. GRRR!
