The rooms are decent sized at the "W" hotels, at least in the ones I've stayed at (there are 5 of them in Manhattan, I've stayed at 3).

But definitely on average the rooms are small.

Thanks Rashelle!!!

I have had a look at a few sublets, but some look OK, while most look not too nice.

Do you know of the Hayden Hotel? www.haydenhotel.com ?

Hi Ker,

That hotel is not actually a hotel it is more of a fancy hostel. It offers shared bathrooms for most rooms. It is in a nice part of town.

The other girls have given you so much good advice I do not want to overload you. I have lived in NYC all my life so if there is anything they have not covered let me know more then happy to help!

Just thought I'd add my 2-cents worth of advice tongue.gif

Re Niagara I totally agree with Nat that the actual township of Niagara is very run down (its sort of like a REALLY poor version of Vegas or something laugh.gif ). But I do love the falls, and I LOVE Niagara-On-The-Lake, which is a town very close to Niagara, similar to Berry or Bowral (if you're a Sydney gal you'll know what I'm talking about). Its a beautiful little place with lots of wineries, gorgeous B&Bs...very romantic. I'd highly recommend it for a day if you can spare it.

Re Washington I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of the city itself, but it's sort of a 'must see' from a tourism perspective - there are so many FREE museums etc - you could spend days trawling through them. I've heard the new spy museum is awesome too (though I think you have to pay for this one). Try and stay in Georgetown which has lots of nice restaurants and shops.

Re NY hotels, yeah - you'll find they tend to be on the smallish side. Again, I agree with Nat that most of the Ws are pretty good in this regard...except the one on Lexington (which is also the one where you'll be most likely to find a cheap deal) - the room's in that one are tiny...but still very funky and tres NY !

Have fun smile.gif

Unfortunately we've decided not to go to NY for our our honeymoon anymore sad.gif
But we're going to try and hop over when we visit Spain about 6 months after the wedding!

Oh Kir sad.gif

This was the first time I had ventured into this thread and I was thinking all the way thought what a wonderful time you would have visiting all these exciting places.

I am sure Spain will be a wonderful honeymoon destination. Have you thought about at RTW ticket so that you may be able to still visit NY? You sounded so excited about going there!

I was so sad when h2b said it's too much to spend on a time we both want to be just relaxing (and I was starting to get more excited about the honeymoon than the wedding LOL)

So, Thailand it is for our honeymoon (again) and we're going to visit Spain when our friends move there in early 2008.
We haven't looked into RTW flights yet, but I did check the cost of flights to and from Spain and they're not that much (only a little more than a flight to and from Las Vegas from NY!)

The truth is we were going to go to NY and elope - before the wedding - but a few things some family members said tipped us off that coming back and telling everyone we were married would not go down very well... oh well sad.gif
