Definitely you need more definition and strength on your lips, and if you're not happy then you must tell her. After my wedding ring disaster (how much clearer could my description have been the first AND second time I took it back because it wasn't what I'd asked for??!!!!) I have sworn to have photos for everything to avoid differences in interpretation.

Can you flick through some magazines and find some examples of the look you want? By the way, I quite like the freckles and I think Mazz is right they'll be hard to cover, but then I don't know what you look like normally smile.gif

Not sure what you asked for exactly, but as a former make-up artist I say that is pretty damn crap. I think Brides need to be specific about what they want, but there is also an amount of obvious concepts that the artist should be doing and/or suggesting without having to be told down to the last detail how it should be done.

To me it doesn't look like a "natural" look, it looks badly applied. Maybe she was rushing it so as not to waste her resources on a trial? (this is not ok, but it wouldn't suprise me). Hugs, I agree, it is crap (but you have a stunning face regardless!), and there are some things that the make-up artist shouldn't need to be told. If you want to continue with this lady you will unfortunately have to go with photos/pics from magazines and a description down to the letter of what you want, draw a diagram if you have to, lol. She might have been having an off day, but really you can't afford to be having an off day when you have a Bride on your hands, it doesn't inspire much confidence!

As a makeup artist i would be embarrased to let someone out of the salon looking like that. Sorry dannille not being rude but its a pretty shonky job.

What kat said is great advice. maybe try and do it your self and we can help you out. there are so many girls on here with experience i'm sure we can get you ready in no time

Re your lips define them with your liner then fill in the space with the liner as well and put your lippy over the top. it sets the lippy and you just have to keep touching up.

Like kat said you don't need alot of foundation as long as it is the right type for your skin.

Im starting to lean towards not using her...in my opinion, she hasn't even gotten the basics right (ie no foundation on parts)

I'm either going to do it myself or get my best friend to do it...she is amazing with her application so I may have to go that way.

Hey jo, thanks for the suggestions and comments...I felt I was being descriptive enough with this lady and I really thought she got it when I explained it to her...Admittedly i didn't tell her waht colours as I just told her my bridesmaid and flower colours and thought she would know what was best. I told her how I normally wear my make up and what I wanted but I guess she just didn't get it...As for wasting her resourses, I'll be very pissed if this is the case considering I paid for the trial, $20 less then what I will pay on the day dry.gif

Dannielle!!

Your foundation work is much better and would certainly surfice for your wedding day and photos!

My suggestions are:

1. Take foundation base down to the neck and softly blend it with fingers and lightly powder it towards your bust line> With your dress line I would be covering this whole area and Thats would be included in my makeup price too. The foundation on your face and your neck are different shades. In photos you want this even. (its okay for work though LOL)

2. With your eyelashes the trick i use to lengthen is to mascara, powder, mascara (MPM)! brush them out first and separate and curl them then do the MPM!! When I do makeups and Ive done this on Ido brides too I use a clear mascara and the last set is black or black/brown

3. With your eyes I would use the liner on the bottom eyelid and soften it with a cotton bud or soft eye brush if you have one taking the smudging to the outer edges of eyes by about 2-5 mm ( 1/2 cm) to extend your eye shape. THen on the top use a small loose brush or the corner of foam wedge and using grey eyeshadow from the edge of the liner ont he bottom and contour your eye to above the centre of your eye ( you know the brown bit LOL)! Then do the other two colours on top.

4. the lips to me look perfect! but i would recommend you get a lip wax!

5. Watch too much glitter on your eyeshadow on the top. If you want the glitter use an eyebrow pencil to outline your brows and make them darker or get them tinted!!

Im sure Dale, Jo and Erin and Renee could give you some pointers ( sorry they are the only ones that come to mind that do this )

Cheers and if i dont post before your wedding date as we move on the 20th Enjoy your day!
IM DONE!

PMSL at lip wax! LOL I normally get this done every two weeks but I'm trying to hold out to a few days from the wedding, so yeah I won't have that lovely mo look on the day!

Thanks so much, all that makes heaps of sense, I'm goint to have another play on the weekend, and I will work on the neck blending that you suggested. We are meeting with our photographer so I'm going to get them to take a few snaps to see how it look with the photo taken properly.

Again thank you so much, I'm feeling so much calmer now THANK YOU!

Get all waxing done before TUesday next week! if you are prone to redness or swelling it will settle by Saturday. For lips I usually suggest that you get them done atleast a week before becuase two or three days ISNT enough time for the little hairs to regrow and makeyour face even! You dont want a clean WAX line on your lips coz it makes you look like a clown and you cant cover it ( i could have killed a greek bride who did this gggrrrr )

You are welcome thats what the forum is all bout. Supporting you and helping you look gorgeous on your special day!

.I love kats suggestions but

What i would do diff is this

with the eyeliner. I hate using pencil and liquid eyeliner. i'm a big fan of powder and smuding in as i personally think it defines the eyes more. But that is just me. To highlight your eyebrows use white eyeshadow or a white pencil and just lightly blend underneath and you'll be mazed how much defination you will get form it.

is second what kat said about the glitter you can have really nice glitter then really over board. I think less is better.

I don't swell or go red, I normally wax my brows and lip before work most of the time...BUt now thinking about it, I won't have time after wednesday to do the waxing, so tuesday night sounds like a plan wink.gif

Good luck with your playing around this weekend!!!!
Try some greys, silvers and slates! That will look gorgeous - but not too heavy under the eye cos you'll look too squinty or look like you've done a round with Tyson!!! (remember eater)
Let some lashes open them up (i dont have to tell you) but yours are tiny and definately need a lil va-voom!!!!

** I wish I had of done my own makeup (you know who was shite) - you'll be fine - Kristy did an amazing job of your hens makeup BTW I would let her do it!!! tongue.gif (just not so glittery and not so pink tongue.gif

Just a question what are you doing with your fringe?? Did you have a chop at home??? wink.gif and are you still wearing your hair pce? (cos your colour is so dark now)

*** Just had another good study of that original makeup trial - I have to say the thing that I would be using out of it is the eyeliner technique!!! Thats the only thing I like - but it really kept your eyes open! Have a good study of this..... Without the rest of the dodgy job the eyes (minus the bronze glitter) are good!

Some individual lashes on the outside corners will look fab too!!!!

Thanks Rhi, nah Kristy didn't do my eyes for the hens, just my hair!

Don't worry about the hair, I have booked an appoint for next wednesday with the girls to get a cut and colour so my hair will be perfect, my fringe has just grown like crazy latley!!!

Thanks for the suggestions, I will keep em in mind when I'm mucking around on the weekend!!
