Hi ya all,

Just researching the market.

Could you please tell me if you got your wedding photos on DVD/CD and who your photographer was?
Also:
- How many photos were there?
- Were they in high resolution (to say produce an album later)
- Cost? (only if you dont mind smile.gif )

Thanks Jet

PS. It doesnt matter what state your in, this will give me an idea of what might be common.

Allo,

You know who my photographer was and yes we are getting them on CD, they come part of our package and our package costs $4.5k

They will not be in high resolution, just email quality and for picking out photos for our album purposes.

Our DVD of images was part of our package. There are about 550 images on them, and they are huge images too because of the high res.

Hi Erinna,
Not exactly. I'm in a quest to get my raw files off my photographer but I know she has insisted that professionals dont provide this service...which I think is her elitest attitude and not fact. Just confirming this with all you I-do gals. smile.gif

We're getting our hi-res photos included. We are lucky that our photographers are soooo nice and they believe that they are our photos - why would they want to keep them for themselves. They aren't greedy and would never charge us extra for it, they're in it for the love of it and it shows.
It was probably something you should have discussed up front before signing up with her, but perhaps you can talk her around? Good Luck

Yes I'm definitely getting them in hi-res on DVD. That was one of my main stipulations.. if they didn't offer this service or wanted to charge exhorbitant price for this or said I had to wait 1,2,3 years... I crossed them off the list immediately. I wanted these as I didn't want to get an album just yet.

Good luck with your nasty photographer!

Ahhh.. well, you'll find that MOST photographers wont offer this.. although some do offer them after a certain time frame (few years afterwards)...

As a photographer, I understand about it being able to control the quality output of your images etc...

good luck!

I'm getting low-res files included in my package, if I decide to get the hi-res images I can do this for an additional $200 (no waiting period required).

You may have trouble with this Jet.

Cassarilda is in the industry and I believe she engaged the services of her employer (correct me if I'm wrong here Cassar) for her wedding.

For Joe Public, providing the RAW files is extremely uncommon. Kinda like buying beautiful satin material from your dress supplier - it has the potential to look fantastic but needs an equally great seamstress to complete the puzzle.

Won't a high res open-standard file be enough (eg; JPEG or TIFF)?
