I'm contemplating letting h2b plan the honeymoon on his own. I'm planning the whole wedding pretty much on my own and I'd like some element of surprise. He knows that my dream honeymoon would be Paris and he has told me before that it was out of the question for various reasons and we've discussed alternative destinations. I finally just told him that he can plan it and just surprise me. I'm pretty sure he'll take me somehwere nice. I just really want to be surprised, I'm orchestrating the whole wedding and I'd like him to do something for us for a change.

Would you let your h2b surprise you with your honeymoon?

This was supposed to be a poll but I don't know what happened with the poll!

My vote would be a big fat yes, i let hubby organise all our accomodation and it turned out fantastic. He booked some very romatic places for us to stay.

I dont think you need that stress on top of the wedding, and he may be quite glad to do it.

As much as I love my husband - if I had let him organise our honeymoon - guarenteed we would have been camping on the side of the road somewhere without a tent.

depends - do you trust him to
a) choose something appropriate - i.e. not a family resort filled with 8000 school kids on a camp
cool.gif be organised enough to book things with enough time in advance

i gave this job to my h2b and sort of booking it all myself i had to push him to research - contact people and follow-up follow-up or he wouldve left it to the last minute

good luck deciding

If he is willing and wanting to do it - then I say let him!
I would have loved it if my H2B was willing, but alas, I did it myself. I wanted to make sure that we too didn't spend our honeymoon in our own house rolleyes.gif

My vote would've been yes. HOWEVER, i say that knowing that my h2b is quite good at researching and knowing where to take me etc.

If you feel that he can do this then why not? Surprises are always fun! smile.gif

Definitely not because I'm a control freak sad.gif and I don't think H2B is as good at researching or getting bargains as I am wink.gif and he'd probably take me to somewhere in South America or Africa which I'm not quite ready for!

I would loved if my hubby had planned a surprise honeymoon.

ABSOLUTELY - My fiancee has fantastic taste and I know he would choose something great. He was going to do this but we made a decision after the first visit to the travel agent

Anyway if he is up to the challenge - by all means

We chose the destination together and hubby planned the rest of it (accomodation etc).

If you're happy enough to let him do it, go for it! Would mean less stress for you!

I personally wouldn't, only cos husband is not an organiser, and he doesn't have any access to the internet, except when he calls into work on his way home to use it (rarely) or we go over to Mum and Dad's, and he wouldn't want to be going over on his own to ask to use internet.

Has h2b ever booked a holiday for you guys before? How did that go? That should give you a good idea of what to expect if he has.

My hubby did, only the accommodation, but it was TERRIBLE his mum basically organised it for him, and it was the worst place I've ever stayed in.

But that's us, I'm the organiser, he does other stuff.

OK I will revise my earlier comments.. H2B actually surprised me with our very first trip away when we had only been dating for 2 months! He has also given me other surprises AND picked my engagement ring - all of which I liked.. I just don't want to go to a country I have no interest in, or what I deem as not 'safe'.. but if it was within a list a countries or within Australia I'd be pretty happy with him doing it.. But the Asian in me would always be able to find something just as good for cheaper wink.gif
