What a day of weird feelings today. Klay rung our saviour breeder today to see how our little Mickey was travelling, she said he wasnt well - that she had gotten up at about 3am this morning to find him 'breathing like he was a freight train' and sounding quite chesty, he also wouldnt suckle.
When she came back to check on him later, she decided to give him a shot of penicillin to see how he would go with that...after leaving him for a bit she saw he wasn't improving, she rang klay to fill him in...and to prepare him for what would happen. She found she could help him and let him pass on if that is what klay wanted to do.
Klay rung me at work, and i didnt want to make the decision. So klay rang her back to find out the full story and asked her to let him go - we didnt want him suffering.
She said she would and that klay could come and collect him after lunch. So Klay went to get her a memento for trying to help us and left to go see her. She wasn't home.
So he came home and rung her up, she had some good news, she said it seemed that the pencillin might of helped Mickey right along and that he was doing so so much better now, he was eating again, breathing normally and was acting like any 6 day old puppy would. She said that things were looking up.
Klay didnt know what to say! She is going away tomorrow - and is taking her little 2 week old pups, the two mothers and our mickey with her to keep an eye on him. And is going to keep us in constant contact to let us know how is going.
After having some light at the end of the tunnel and i keep getting it taken away, i am not learning not to count my chickens before they hatch. And just praying he keeps growing stronger and stronger.
Ozzy is really starting to notice that millie isnt coming home and is getting very very sooky - i still can't move her bowl...klay had to clean up her stuff today because it is too upsetting.
Thankyou girls again, and thankyou kat for your reassuring words. I am sorry Jordy got upset - and you need to know how much of a credit to you she is...such a lovely young lady.
Thanks girls and i will continue to keep you updated.

I'm so sorry to hear that some of the puppies didn't make it. I'm sure Millie is taking good care of them up in doggy heaven.
May Mickey grow to be a big and strong baby for you and Klay and a playmate for little Ozzy.
You know where to find me if you want to chat!
Take Care! Best wishes to little Mickey!
