My high was taken by a low

On Friday my brave little girl gave birth to 4 puppies. Her Labour started with her first puppy born at 9:15am and her final puppy born at 6:50pm that night. The last puppy was breach birth, and klayton had to pull him out and help him breath for a little bit.
Naturally on Saturday Millie didnt have any energy. On sunday she was still a little bit mopey, but when we took her ou tside to have a walk around she was ok bit groggy on her feet. We rung the vet and asked around for a lot of advice and we were told she would still be quite sore as 4 pups were quite a lot for such a small dog.
On Monday morning, Klay woke up to find a pup had passed away, Millie seemed to be rejecting her pups, she was in one corner and her pups were in the other, Klayotn rushed them all straight to the hospital. Her pups were severly suffering from the cold. Millie was even worse "Bascially Dead" was how the Vet described her as they wheeled her off to get some drips into her. She was severly de-hydrated - this had all happend so quickly - we were trying to feed her and she was drinking in front of us, but obviously not enough.
My little girl Millie passed away at 12:38pm yestrday. She passed away with no pain, and with some very lovely nurses surrounding her.
I rushed straight home from work to join klay - we went and collected our little baby, and her remaining children.
We were warned that the pups werent very strong and they would need constant montioring. Which is what klay and i spent all of last night doing, with 30 mins feeds keep water bottles warm lamps turned on, helping them go to the toilet. It was a very very very tiring night. At about 10pm last night we lost a puppy - our second was lost early this morning - Dozer, he was our strongest....Now we have our final Puppy Mickey left over.
I didnt want to loose him so racked my brains to work out ways i could find a bitch provding milk. Final I looked through the trading post, where i found the same breed dog who had young pups! LUCKILY for me the owner had two mating dogs, and one of her pups was not feeding off the mother, so there was a spare teet. She said we could take our Mickey down there for the next four weeks to be nutured by this mother.
I am forever greatful, it is not guranteed to let Mickey survive but his odds are much better now, then what they were without a 'mum'
Klay and i are compltely devasted that we lost our Millie, and i DO NOT want anyone to come in here and lecture us - we have lost our little girl, when you consider these animals your children im sure alot of you know how heartbreaking it is too loose them, not only that we have lost puppies as well. My Ozzy is fretting for Millie and we didnt even get to say Goodbye to her.
She has been put out the back of her ouse near her pups with her fave teddy bear and with her jumper to keep her warm.
Thankyou to all the girls who have sent me msgs of support they do mean alot to us - we just can't believe how quickly it has all happend and how devasting it really does feel.
RIP my baby girl...

RIP Millie. Have fun with my little boy Max up there in Doggy Heaven
P.S. I know what you mean about the whole bowl thing. I made Adam close the door so that I couldn't see Max's things. It's so heartbreaking.
