I would imagine most people (in Sydney anyway) would spend more than $350. I don't know how much I'm spending yet but they will be silk flowers from STFWSNBN.

We were extremely lucky as we paid cost for our flowers (just what they cost at the markets) as a friend of Alex's family who works in the industry did the labour as our wedding present smile.gif

We had:
1 bridal bouquet
3 BM bouquets
5 corsages
5 buttonholes
1 throwaway bouquet

Flowers included a special type of roses (not sure their name), orchids, stephanotis and magnolia leaves (maybe other stuff that I don't recognise? tongue.gif). The flowers alone were about $450 I think?

Ours were $347
1x bridal
3x bm
2x buttonhole
2x corsages
& 1x complementary throw away.

Mine were roses with a mixture of white, pale pink & hot pink.

This is great considering one quote was for $700 and andother for $550.

Thanks all for you posts, girls! There really is a huge difference depending on where you go, and what flowers you are having. I have definatley decided to go with my first quote:

$288 - this is for:

My Bride's bouquet
2 X BM bouquets
4 X corsages
1 X buttonhole
Complimentary throw-away bouquet
and delivery on the day.

And the lady is amazing, too - and she also does all the flowers aleady for my reception venue (included in reception price), and is able to co-ordinate all the reception flowers to mine! biggrin.gif

Mine will be about $280 as we are not having centrepieces at the reception, we decided to go with flower petals and candles.

I got four quotes from florists on I-DO, so you could say that they are the popular bridal specialist florists and they come recommended. I was shocked by their quotes. They all averaged at $200 for my bouquet alone and $98 for the bridesmaids. As our wedding is pretty small we have a small budget and I couldn't justify spending almost $800 on flowers.

I went to my local florist near where I live and I got her to quote for exactly what the others had. She quoted $190 for everything! That is my bouquet, bridesmaid and three buttonholes. She also quoted for flower petals and optional centrepieces if we wanted them. So I am going to go with her. PLUS I will save on delivery as I will just collect them myself on the morning on the wedding as she is near by.

I think it pays to talk to your local florist, you would surpised what price you can get and they must be good at their job or they wouldn't be in business. I think some of these 'designer' florists are just charging you for their name.

I thought I would be saving money by skipping the traditional bouquet and adorning my bridesmaid's and my wrist with a corsage. However when I add buttonholes, additional corsages and floral decorations for the tables I'm sitting at around $700 ohmy.gif

I am going with silk. for $116 i get:

Bridal bouquet of white frangipanis and hot pink lilliums
BM bouquet of hot pink and white frangipanis
3 frangipani button holes- 2 white, 1 pink
5 single hot pink lilliums (have used these to make fscinator and for decorating FG dress)
throw away

I have then also spent another $80 on silk frangipani heads for table decos and cake.
this included 2 white stems and 1 pink stem with 8 flowers each of better quality for the cake (will be taken off stems)
and 60 single fower heads to go around our centerpieces.

so a total of $196. I am very happy with that.

I was lucky I spent only $200 and had a gorgeous bouquet, grooms button hole, centrepieces, flowers on a fireplace mantle and both mums corsarges. I was lucky enough for my sweet friend, who's a florist, to make them for me free of charge wub.gif . She even managed to get the cost down for the centrepiece flowers.

If you know anyone who can do them for you, I imagine you can save a fair bit of $$$.

Ours cost $700 and this included

1 x Trail Bouquet (Pink Stargazer Lillies, Pink Roses & White Singapore Orchids)
3 x BM's Posy Bouquets (Pink Stargazer Lillies & Pink Roses)
7 x Button Holes (Groomsman had Roses, Dads had White Singapore Orchids)
4 x Corsages (Mothers & Nan all had White Singapore Orchids)
52 x Pink Lillies (For Centrepieces at Reception)

I thought I got quite a good price. As I was quoted well over $1000 by another supplier.

Oh dear, I wish we were paying less for our flowers. They are coming in at a total of $2000, but that is for 5 bridesmaids, my bouquet, a flower girl, 9 corsages and two for the mums, plus the reception decorations which is for about 20 tables and the bridal table, so I am hoping that isn't too bad. I'm having philonopsis orchids, singapore, roses and frangipanis, but may change to peonies cus I have fallen in love with their dreamyness.

Our wedding flowers were really cheap for what we got. We mainly had lillies and lisianthums and we paid around $700. This included:

1 x bride bouquet
4 x bridesmaids bouquet
7 x buttonholes
2 x vases filled for church
11 x vases filled for reception
1 x flowers for cake

There are some pictures in my sig if you want to have a look. Our florist was fantastic!
