Hi girls. where is everyone going on their honeymoons?

anyone going to the Sunshine Coast?

We are going to Montville, near Melaney. Staying at a place called Country Habit, its really great and has a fireplace and spa. We got a pretty good deal too.

We were going to go to long Island originally but decided not to cause its school holidays when we get married and we wanted peace and quiet.

Hey Sharon

We're looking at having a week of skiing in NZ (July wedding) and then a week or more at Caloundra on the sunshine coast - FILs own a unit right on the beach, way better than anything we could ever afford to pay for, so we get to stay in luxury and total isolation for a while for free!!

Montville will be lovely smile.gif

Ooohh...I am sooo jealous or those girls travelling! tongue.gif

Rhys and I are going to Rhys's mum's beach house in Inverloch. As once the wedding is over, literally the next week we start rennovations on our house, and hence cannot afford a honeymoon!

here is the plan so far - whether we end up doing it or not is another matter
one week in Magnetic Island then fly back down via the Gold Coast either a week or five days in Gold Coast and go to the theme parks - cause we have been saying we are going to do this for years then a week to ourselves at home....
fingers crossed

I cant wait!! I'm actually more excited about it than the wedding at the moment! We are staying there for 7 nights then coming back to stay at Surfers Paradise for 4 nights so we can do the whole theme park thing!!! We are spending a day at each one! We figured it would be a great way to finish it off! Then back home Xmas Eve!

That sounds great girls. I would have liked to go overseas too, but we couldn't afford it. Greg's parents are both deceased, so we are going halves with my mum and stepdad in the wedding.

We thought about Bali too at one stage, but Greg reckoned he would be looking over his shoulders all the time.

Montville will still be nice.

Cheers for now

Sharon. x

We are staying in a local hotel. We sort of asked ourself what we wanted out of our honeymoon time.

- Time together
- A beach
- A pool
- A really nice hotel room
- good food
- lots of pampering

So we are spending 4 days at a hotel that is pretty local and on the beach in Scarborough (Perth)....We can go on a more expensive trip when we have more money the year after the wedding.

You'll have a fabulous time in Montville Sharon. Enjoy the peace and quiet and make sure you get out to a few of the restaurants around for some fab dinners.

We're going to Tassie for 10 or 11 days, travelling all around the place. It seems that it'll cost us quite a bit but we're really looking forward to a change of scenery. Always having lived in Qld - it'll be different to see more of a lush place like Tassie and the colder weather will interesting as well. (Living in Brisbane, if the weather gets below 20 degrees i die!! I wonder how i'll cope with 15 degrees....brrrrrr!!!!)

Montville sounds lovely! You will have a great time. smile.gif I've never been there - you'll have to let us know how beautiful it is!!

We haven't booked anything yet, but we're planning on going to Thailand!!

Start with a couple of days in Bangkok (shopping!!) then a 4-day tour up the River Kwai (elephant riding, bamboo rafting, long-boating, staying in 'floating jungle river huts' ohmy.gif ). After that we will fly to Chiang Mai and do a 4-day Thai cooking course (in a Thai person's home!). Finally, we will head to Hua Hin and stay in a beautiful resort for a week!! Oh, and another few days in Bangkok before we head home (more shopping! tongue.gif )!! All up we'll be away for three weeks.

Soooo looking forward to this trip! I LOVE Thailand, but have only seen Bangkok and Koh Samui, so it will be great to see more of the country. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

We're kinda having two honeymoons. My sister is getting married in Canada in October so that will be our main one but it's before the wedding. We actually booked the tickets yesterday. We're going from Sydney to Ottowa via Honolulu, Vancouver and Toronto. Stay there for a week and 2 days then to Amsterdam via Washington to stay with relatives. We stay there for 5 days then to Singapore for 2 days for shopping smile.gif and then back here. Then after we get married we're going to Queensland for a couple of weeks I think. It'll be great smile.gif

I soooo want to go to Montville! I loved it there when I was a kid and I imagine it's even better now. Are you going to Condalila (sp?) Falls? We went there and it was soo beautiful smile.gif Hope you have a great time!
