By their professional photographer? It is an add on to our package (I can't remember how much) but I am starting to think it would be a really interesting part to add to the story of the day.

What does everyone else think?

Our photographer is already pretty xxxy but just got me thinking when we met with a videographer last night who would include it in his package. I know we will get photos of it, but it would be good to add it into the album I think.

Yes - the photographer and her assistant will be there for the groom's prep and then will hottail it over to photograph our prep. A lot of other photographers just send the assistant to do the groom's prep, but there'll be some great opportunities there, plus some important pics of FH with his brother, groomsmen etc.

We had the videographer get footage of the boys getting ready, and then the girls getting ready.

The photographer (hubby's uncle) then took photos once we were dressed (at our separate houses).

A tip - make sure your groomsmen know what they are supposed to be doing dry.gif After they got dressed and before the photographer arrived, the best man and one of the GMs (his brother) took off dry.gif So all of our boys shots have only 2 GM in them dry.gif

(OT - if there was an award for the world's worst Best Man ... Ours would've got it dry.gif dry.gif dry.gif)

Lucky for us, I work with 2 people who have formal photography qualifications. They're both really good and have both volunteered to do a lot of the photojournalistic and candid shots I want for the wedding. While the professional photographer is with me, one of my colleagues will be with HTB and the boys documenting their preparation, and the other at his parent's house documenting that. I just didn't want to go without photos of my sweetie getting ready!

We had it and it was terrific - the boys were more relaxed and so the photos reflect that. We've got some great shots of them doing funny things too - like being in their 'groomsman' boxer shorts, walking down the street in sunnies (like the mafia type shot) and drinking alcohol.
There's also more serious shots of hubby with his family and cute ones like his parents each kissing his cheeks at the same time.
In our case, it was really worth it.

We had both the photographer and videographer go to the boys first - and these are probably my FAVOURITE shots!!

Only thing was: make sure your boys are organised! The photographer and videographer came to me a little late 'cause the boys were stuffing around and didn't get ready quick enough! rolleyes.gif

I would recommend it! smile.gif

H2B is still tossing up whether he wants to do this or not. Currently, it is not part of our package and from memory will cost us $250 if we want this added option.

Me being me wants to have this but if H2B doesn't then i guess we won't.

I think it is the same for us, around $250. I might ask to add it on, just have one photographer at the bride and the assistant at the groom, then the assistant come back to the bride to drive to ceremony. I think it will be really sweet.

I have seen the groom's prep filmed really badly on videos, I hate it when they all put their arms over each others shoulders and lean in towards the camera. But I saw a really cool one yesterday where they went surfing and went back to the room and one guy was just playing the guitair. It was sweet.

I want to see how nervous he looks too!

Our photographer went to see the boys first and then came to us.

He got some fantastic shots of them and funny enough he got more shots of the boys than he got of the girls rolleyes.gif

It was great because when we got our proofs back it allowed Eddie and I to see what we both did before the ceremony.

We will definetly be having this.
I want to see how he spent he's morning, what happened etc. Both Video and Photographer will capture this.

Its easy for us though as we will be getting ready around the corner from each other smile.gif

I think it would be great to get but this but it's not overly important since they don't do much of the 'getting ready' stuff anyway compared to the girls (and how long does it take to put on a tie and suit?). i also think this is one instance where video would be far more important as it captures the real moment. but I hate those cheesy set up shots too where the grooms are playing 'roles' and doing weird stuff.. seems to be a certain type of people who like that stuff, from what I've seen.

Yes the photographer is heading to Luke's house before mine to get some snaps of family, the boys mucking around and maybe putting their ties and jackets on or something. I think he'll only be there for about half an hour to 45 minutes.
