Here are some special tips my hair stylist gave me for preparation to my wedding day that I thought I would share with you. Some of you might already know them and be obvious but others you may forget about or not even think of.

1. Wash hair night before unless told otherwise and prepare your skin as advised the night before. Make sure you exfoliate.

2. Make sure you are ready to start when your stylist arrives.

3. Hair stylist needs a low back chair, table and powerpoint. Also cover furniture with sheets if you are worried about hair spray on your furniture.

4. Make up artist needs a stool and natural light

5. Create a relaxing atmosphere by burning essential oils.

6. Make sure you eat a light breakfast that morning.

7. If you choose to get ready in a hotel it makes ia lot more relaxing if you bring lunch with you or have it pre organised.

8. Bite sized sandwiches are great, also small pieces of fruit or non sticky lollies.

9. Have straws on hand for drinking so not to smear make up and particularly lipstick.

10. Please wear a button up cotton shirt or similar.

11. Have everything laid out ready to wear, Brides clothes in one room, Bridesmaids in another.

12. Scuff bottom of new shoes to ensure they are non slip

13. It makes the finishing touches when all nail polish, hair colour, eyebrows and skin care has been taken care of

14. Pack a repair kit with hair spray, pins, lipstick, tissues, safety pins, perfume, deodorant, panadol and mints.

15. We suggest the bridal party wear all the same perfume, this creates a pleasant atmosphere.

16. Have bags packed and ready to go.

17. Remember to have a fabulous day and relax.

Also, for those girls who want to get their eyebrows done, I was recommended to go to David Jones to the Estee Lauder stand and there are brow experts there. It costs $45 but the cost is redeemable - so you get your eyebrows done for $45 and then you get to buy a product for that amount. They are excellent and will spend 45 minutes making sure your eyes are perfect. They do recommend 2 visits. And you have to get in early as they book out fast.

I'm printing this baby out!

Thanks lots simone, those really help.

I must remember to take some gorgeous smelling candles to the hotel, and to have the bridesmaids wear my perfume (which i still have to decide on - such a big decision!).

i had heard of the wonders of the estee lauder eyebrow lady - i will book myself in. i think they do it at My3r too.

Thanks for the helpful tips!

re buttoned shirt - when I got my hair done for yr 10 and 12 formals (same place) they told me to wear a buttoned shirt.. I thought this was standard practice but obviously not.. as I have seen so many 'getting ready' shots and no one seems to inform the bride about this..? well thanks to Simone we now all know!

Yay you posted them - thanks Simone

Those tips are great but not sure about everyone wearing the same perfume, scents smell differently on different people

I am going to print these out
