This is not aimed at anyone in particular...

I have noticed that a lot of questions are being repeated. Can I please ask everyone to use the functions that we have on this forum and "search" for a topic before you post a new thread? This is especially for those questions which are fairly common, e.g. wedding music, decorations for a particular theme, budgets, etc.

This isn't supposed to be a mean post, just a "we have the function, why not use it!" post. It'll save people from posting the same responses over and over again, and also prevent boredom when you have to reread the same topic for the third time in as many weeks!

The "search" is easy to use! Just click on the button and then type in a couple of key words! Bingo! You'll get a whole pile of results and, who knows, you might find just what you were looking for!

Thanks beautiful girls and spunky men!

Tam

P.S. If you think I'm being mean come kick me! biggrin.gif

I know what your saying and i don't think you're being mean... When i first joined and started on the forums i didn't know how anything worked and how to use anything! Then i figured it out and one day i tried to use the search button and got nothing... I knew i'd seen the topic but it said it wasn't there.

So anyway, maybe we can get some kinda Demo happening? showing us how things work.

Youre so right Tam.
I've been noticing a lot of repeat posts lately and it would really save time loading up the pages each day if people searched first.

The search button is on the 2nd blue bar from the top of every page, sandwiched between 'Help' and 'Members'

l agree!

The other thing that gets my goat is when people post messages in SMS Slang (as l like to call it).

Abbreviations, yes
SMS Slang, no

Definately not mean Tam, helpful.

Fingers crossed that we will not see too many more repeated posts.

Thanks for putting it out there.

I find it's also very hard to read posts that have no punctuation in them. It becomes hard to work out where the sentence stops and starts.
Try to read it back to yourself before sending.

Maybe we need a post on forum ettiqute?? biggrin.gif .. (but then I have a feeling we would always be point that out along with the rules sad.gif)

I can't say I *hate* anything... but I know what posts I'm least likely to want to read.... ones where the writting is all in one big block with no spacing / parapraphing.. ekky. Use of colour that makes it hard read what is written (specaillly in long post when your eyes are accustomed to reading everything in black.. colour suddenly makes you have to refoucus your eyes etc) blink.gif .. or over use of "Capitals" or large fonts can almost make it look like someone is shouting at you which is rather off puting .. I can't complian about spelling, I never notice and I'm most likely the worst offender on that biggrin.gif (did I spell Ettique right?? most likely not I bet wink.gif)

So my 50c... who am I to complain... ... but yes Search functions is GREAT biggrin.gif

(My search tip, if you can't find it straight away... change the date to ALL Posts wink.gif .. or try in ALL forums)

I hate bad spelling too, but I think when it's Peta Possum doing it she can somehow get away with it.

While we're on the topic these are my pet peeves:

there - their - they're
your - you're
to - too (There IS a difference! Mixing them up makes for complicated reading and I just don't see why people weren't taught this in 3rd grade)

*rant over* (but blame Tam, she started it) wink.gif

mer

Emma do you mean 'u' and 'ur' instead of 'you' and 'your'? I CAN'T STAND that either!
