It was 40 degrees in Melbourne on Sunday (I think....) and we went past a church and saw a bride standing under a tree.
I immediatley said to Dave "ohhhh poor thing, she would be dying in that dress"

I guess you can plan everything except the weather! blink.gif

eeek it is going to be hot, so glad I got married in the month of April smile.gif

My sister got married in February 21 years ago (far out didn't realise it was that long) & it was one of those hottest days on record days, 45. My BIL almost passed out in the church. I was only 11 & remember my hair was terrible, my fringe was soaking wet & I couldn't wait to get my stockings & shoes off!

good luck to all of Saturday's brides, hope you're wearing cool wedding gowns!

That said, I had a December wedding, expected the worse.... but! It was a gorgeous day! A bit overcast, cool and windy... almost gale winds by the end of the reception, laugh.gif I wasn't hot at all. The only time when I actually felt hot (but not dripping with sweat etc.) was at the altar and that was only because we didn't have air-con up there, only where the congregation were (lucky lot you!).

Then we have my MOH's wedding in Feb last year (when I was chief bm). Stinking hot from the word go! We were sticking to the lining of our dresses, sweating so much, the reception venue didn't have air-con and the breeze didn't cool it down till later in the evening etc. I was so glad to get home and have a shower that night (though I have to say, everything was gorgeous).

I would've loved to have a winter wedding (I love winter, yes, even in freezing Canberra!) but I don't think I would've coped with the rain because I want my outdoors photos. Besides.... I like our funky wedding date too much. wink.gif

I went to a wedding last weekend (7th February) and it was actually on the beach. Picture this: 40 degree day, wedding on the beach at 4:00pm. About 50 uninvited guests (swimmers) hanging around in their undies/swimmers and not even moving out of the way for camera shots!
In the end I went and told most of them to be considerate and respect their wedding day - eventually they moved, but I bet they're still in the background of some photos!
All in all a very perfect wedding - I didn't stop crying the whole ceremony.
