Melanie, it's lovely!
Where are you getting married? Just trying to picture the setting that's all.
You're so lucky to have tried on only one dress and loved it so much to buy that one. I ended up buying my first dress, but I must have tried on 20 or more...
Good on you, one major item ticked off!

Hi Everyone - My wedding date is the 24th of Feb so I think that makes a few of us quadruplets or something! I'm beginning to stress reading what everyone else has organised so far since I've only organised the church and reception...should I be hauling myself into gear??

Hello quadruplet Mojito!! 24th Feb rocks!! biggrin.gif

Dont stress too much just yet Empress and Mojito, we have plenty of time - besides, ceremony and reception are the most important things to book in, and youve already done them!! smile.gif

My wonderful MOH's advice to me when booking things is to book anything where they can only do one wedding per day as soon as you can (eg flowers they can prepare a few days before so they can do a few weddings on one day, whereas once the photographer is booked for that date they are unavailable to anyone else), so thats what Ive been trying to do and its working OK so far smile.gif

I thought I mite also share a useful thing I learnt for us Feb07 girls to keep in mind (my dress place pointed this out to me) - most dress manufacturers shut for about a month over Christmas, so if youre ordering something that will come from overseas or take a while to be ready, its best to try and time it so it arrives around December. That means you have some time up your sleeve in case its late and you also have January to have alterations and final fittings etc. Ive heard of dresses taking anywhere from 3 to 9 months to be ready (dont worry - we still have 10 months to go!!), so it may be a good thing to ask about when you're looking at dresses.

Empress - how did you go with your end of march deadline for photographers? I booked mine in last week and I am absolutely THRILLED with her. Now if only I could find a videographer... rolleyes.gif

End of March deadline? oh crap .. haha .. I forgot about that.. but I'm actually going to look at (another) videographer tomorrow which will be good.

Thanks for the great tips, delaks! Actually I'd totally forgotten I actually have a lot more done than just my ceremony/reception venues! I have Sue doing my flowers, and our reception venue is providing us with a DJ, getaway car and wedding night accommodation, and we've almost finalised our cake too.

but I really have to get a celebrant ..eesh.

So which town/city is everybody from?

Sydney wedding, but I live in Wollongong

If youre in sydney Empress let me know how you go with the videographer - I have been looking at so many demos but Im finding it difficult to find one that Im not either
1. Retching at graphic pashing (its your wedding, youre in love but get a room! honestly!) tongue.gif or
2. Laughing at cheesy special effects or
3. Feeling dizzy from crazy fast moving camera angles and quick edits

I just want someone to nicely film the events of the day so we can send it to the relos overseas but its proving quite tricky to find that dry.gif I also find it strange that alot of the demos I see are not important things like the vows, but are videos of having the photos taken - isnt that what the photos are for...? huh.gif laugh.gif

anyways, back to "work" (read: wedding planning) biggrin.gif

PS. Mels Keith - I forgot to add in my earlier post that your dress looks great smile.gif You will be lovely and cool for a hot Feb wedding! biggrin.gif

Quite a few snaps on Feb 10th now!!!

For those joining us lovely Feb brides - Im from Melbourne, my H2B is from Hamilton. We meet at a footy match and became good friends at uni. He goes for Essendon, and im Carlton. We loooovvvvveeeee horse racing - so our wedding is at Flemington Racecourse. We are VRC members, so it seemed fitting to have the ceremony in the mounting yard and the reception in the VRC members dinning room. We have booked our photograhper and had a really fun morning having our pre-wedding shots. We will pick them up on the 3rd May. We are looking for our celebrant, of which we will get serious about once my workload clears up early next month. I have oprdered my dress and are currently paying it off.
Feb 10th 2007 - Flemington Racecourse - we'll be off and racing!

Fields of Omagh - 2 time Cox Plate winner........happy retirements FOO

Well one thing off the 'to do list' - we settled our invites this morning!!

The colours look a little bright on the website, but in reality are 'softer' and on a beautiful shimmery card!
We've chosen paper that's called Lustre.....has a silver shimmer through it!

GORGEOUS, i love them biggrin.gif
