Hello girls,

went to a wedding on Saturday. It was beautiful, overlooking Sydney harbour. Was taking notes in my head throughout the whole day smile.gif since our wedding is less than a year away now.

Haven't booked anything more sad.gif but have to get cracking on finding the celebrant and hopefully want to get photo and video booked real soon too (just having a hard time deciding stuff).

cheerio.

tracey&leon I didn't realise there was another 17th Feb bride to be. We havent yet decided but around 4.00pm or 5.00pm for our cememony. I would love a sunset wedding but we are at Mt buffalo and I don't want the celebrant driving back down in the dark.

We are going to meet our celebrant and funcations manager on the 29th March, and pay the depoist for the celebrant. I ahve this week sorted out my meun also and our drinks. We were going for a package and decided against that idea, and going by tab.

Bascally we don't have a lot of money so we are just going to buy something eg suit, dress, rings when we have spare money. I found the shoes I want so I went and brought them for $30 from Shoe Styles. Keith said if tehy don't suit dress as I ahven't got that yet we can always get another pair, they are sliver.

I am having a break from planning and going to Darwin in a fortnights time can't wait. It is our honeymoon as we won't go on one after we get married. Sounds silly I know but we at least get a hoilday.
Good luck with planning. Less then a yr to go now.
Cheers Mel

Hi girls,

Can I join the Feb 2007 club as well?

We're getting married in Vegas on May 10, 2006, but we currently live in the UK and none of my friends & family (bar my best friend) can make it to Vegas.

We're coming to Oz as a massive surprise for my Mum's 50th in Feb 2007, so we decided while we had the whole family gathered for that, we'd throw a recommitment ceremony in at the same time!

So we're renewing our vows on the island I grew up on, Sunday Feb 11th 2007.

All I know so far is I will wear my wedding dress from Vegas, and our theme will be frangipani. It'll be pretty small (approx 50 guests), we'll do the vows on the beach thing at about 2.30pm, and then walk up the hill for some kind of light reception (not a meal, maybe finger food or maybe just cake & champagne) at the island's pub. Everyone will have to leave by about 5pm to make the last boat back to the mainland. It'll be a small day, our budget's only $2000 (since it is costing us a bomb to come over at all, and also we have to pay for 1/3 of my mum's surprise party).

I'm organising all this from the UK and with no help from Oz since its a surprise, so I might need some help from the Brisbane girls!

Hey girls!!! I'm all booked in for February 9th 2007!!!

I decided on a Friday wedding because of two reasons:

A) All saturdays were booked at the venue I wanted...
and
cool.gif We have lots of overseas guests coming and it will give us a chance to have a casual BBQ or something at our place on the Saturday and catch up with everyone.

I've booked ceremony and reception at Butleigh W00tton and I'm SO excited. It's such a gorgeous venue.

I'm so glad there's twinnies here for me to talk to! I look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome Colleen, and congrats on setting your date.
I'm *almost* a twin, I miss you by 2 days though.

How many people will you be having, and have you picked a theme?
That's pretty much all I have worked out for our renewal so far...

Blushy and Petiepops - we are 24th Feb 07 triplets!!! biggrin.gif

Less than a year now girls, its getting exciting!
Heres what I have done so far:

- Booked ceremony (Trinity Grammer School Chapel, FH went to school there)
- Booked reception (Watersedge Sydney)
- Started guest list (started out at 220 ohmy.gif cut it back to about 190 now, still massive)
- Deposit on dress (theres a pic here style J825 but it looks icky on that model, its really MUCH more beautiful in real life)
- Recruited my florist friend to do the flowers (we went to the flower markets on 25th feb this year to see what will be in season for next year, and they will be beautiful)
- Designed invitations (Im a graphic designer, so its the first thing I did!! lol!)
- Colour theme is 'shades of silver' (from charcoal through to light silver), so let me know if you see any interesting silver things wink.gif )

Im looking for photographer and videographer atm, so sydney twinnies pls let me know if you have any recommendations. Ta!! smile.gif

Hi everyone.. ooh more Feb twinnies, how exciting! I'm still trying to sort out photo and video. I had given myself a deadline of end of Feb but now it's become end of March. aargghh it's such a headache bc I'm a perfectionist and want the best but I don't want to pay over the top prices either. I've been sick lately and also we've been looking for a flat so not much time for wedding stuff but hopefully I'll get back onto that soon and report back here smile.gif

We're inviting about 120, but we think about 80-85 will come, as a lot are overseas.

We're sort of going with the theme of the venue, old fashioned mansion, lots of lace and pink and olive green. And white!! smile.gif

How about you?

Oh cool, love the idea of sticking with your reception place's theme! Glad you've got the basics sorted anyway.

I did my intro just above yours so I won't go into it all again, click here to see it. Frangipani's will be our theme.

Its great to see everyone's plans coming along nicely smile.gif When you think about it 10 months really isnt that long at all blink.gif Before we know it, we will be walking down the aisle biggrin.gif

Well today H2B is going to talk to a DJ that he wants and if they are free, will prolly book them.

I am now in the midst of deciding on flowers. The Florist's have said we need to look at booking now because its so close to Valentines day. Also they have said that roses are a bad idea at that time of year because of Valentines... huh.gif

Have also been looking at stationery ideas and papers.

Our guest list is currently at 90 - A nice intimate amount smile.gif

Hi Twinnies.. yesterday h2b and I went to our first cake testing! (early I know... long story). I'm not sure if I should keep looking /investigating other companies. The lady seems very nice and competent (ours is not your run of the mill plain cake with sugar flowers on top). It was great fun. She suggested some things I had never thought about and it was lovely to see her 'showroom'.

OK I have to get cracking onto video and celebrants...

Jacci - yeah it's a bummer being married in Feb which is already peak time cos it's summer but then to be close to Valentines' Day too (not that I'm complaining). I got told by a few photo/video places they were booked on our date and I was really shocked (being a Sunday and all) but then I found out it's cos it's the last weekend before V's Day. Hmm.. yeah so all of you gals before the 14th should get cracking wink.gif

Hi Ladies,

Thought I'd write an update. In the last few weeks we have managed to book some cars and decide on the boat we want for transporting to the reception. I;ve also managed to find a friend who can get my beloved black velvet roses (clearly didn't think the theme through once the date was picked) and put them together in a bouquet for nearly cost for me. YAY!!!!

My BM's are having their first dress fittings in April so that one can have her dress ready for her yr 12 formal in November.

Slowly but surely getting there!
