i think it's important to take into account regional differences when assessing prices for services. inner city areas will charge more- because they can. city areas are generally more expensive than rural or regional areas. sydney and melbourne are probably more expensive than hobart and darwin. if you want to compare make sure it is apples with apples.

I got a few quotes for around the Central Coast area, ant the average was about $50 per girl for make up. In the end, my cousin is doing my make up & MOH, and the other girls are paying $50 for a mobile make up girl, who works a lot with my mobile hairdresser. She is great too. $65 for my hair, $50 for the girls, and $25-$45 if they only have short hair. My flower girls are having rags in their hair the night before, which we are doing, so they will have ringlettes in the morning.

I got a quote today from my usual hairdresser/salon. $85-100 for bridal makeup. $100 for hair. Same for BM. FG $30.
Going to keep looking, at most that would cost over $400 for the 3 of us!
They do great hair but they charge like a wounded bull! They are not that close to home or ceremony place either.

PS. They charge the same for trials...

Hi all

If you want someone to give you their expertise, time and service then you have to expect to pay for it.

Same goes for the make artist, run if they pull out the frosted blue eyeshadow!
It is a good idea to ask your photographer for hair and makeup recommedations as they see it all....

Beware of hairdressers/makeup artists, I think it is too hard to be able to do both well, it is better to have 2 people who specialise, that way they are focused. That doesn't really apply to a small bridal party.

Remember you will look at those photos forever do you really want to scrimp on your hair and makeup????

Hope I helped a little

We paid $120 and that included hair and make-up.

I found a great mobile hair and make-up lady which was great because I didn't want to have to worry about everyone going back and forth to get hair and make-up done.

She was great and considering she works for one of the big TV channels, does hair/make-up for the L*gies and a few of the TV shows like D*eal or No D*eal, I thought $120 was really good!! smile.gif
