I'm paying for 4 hours of coverage for $800 with no photos. Photos with parents at the hotel before ceremony, photos at ceremony, family photos at the same location and then an 1hr of the cocktail reception. Photographer will come back later and take photos of us leaving and come with us to the city and take more photos on our own. We are not having an album but just the images on cd. We are editing and printing the photos ourselves as my partner is graphic designer. So we are saving at least $1000 doing it this way.

We are paying $4100 for our photographer and assistant. Unlimited time, black and white photos as well, unlimited photos, an album included, engagement shoot as well, one enlargement and a disc with all the images not copyrighted.

Hope that helps you Laurette.

ohmy.gif We paid over $10000 for ours ohmy.gif

We try not to think about it!!

My best advice is to make sure you pre-pay for extra sides in your album otherwise the photographer will bump the price up after the wedding. We originally paid for 25 sides but there were so many gorgeous pics, we ended up with around 70 sides.

He threw in a heap of other things for us though - a slide show set to music, a cd of ALL the pics he took on the day, 5 LARGE wall prints, black leather case for the album and upgraded the album cover.

In terms of how long he was with us on the day - he started with the boys at around 11.30am to capture them having drinks/lunch before the wedding and finished at around 6.30pm once everyone was seated a the reception.

I must be a cheap arse too!
My photographer was only $600 and he didn't give us an album but showed us how to make one that the other photographers charge $2000 for. I'm not that smart but it looks really easy! The magazine albums retail for $100 for 20pages and printing of an A4 sheets costs less than $15/page. Its just the graphical stuff you are paying for!!! We were going to spend over $2000 on photos but then i realised the only other thing that cost that much was the reception. Our rings we will wear for the rest of our lives didn't even cost that much.

Put your wedding into perspective. How many times will you really look at them???
I am making a momento book. We spent the extra $$$ on our honeymoon! I couldn't be happier.

We are spending exactly $4000. This includes:

* 2 photographers
* All day coverage with unlimited photos (about 12-14 hours)
* All photos taken presented in a proof album (there will be 2 proof albums)
* Creative album with 24 sides (including digital sides)
* Pre-wedding photo shoot (all pics taken we get in a postcard size)
* Album on CD
* 4 enlargements
* All negatives available royalty-free after 2 years

Its about $500 above our budget and we were so concerned that we were getting ripped off, but it seems reasonable given the amount of extras we have.

I guess the most important thing is whether you feel comfortable with the photographer, whether you have heard good things about them and whether the cost is within (or near your budget)

Our were a wedding pressie! My uncle is a pro photographer and gave us our photos as a gift.

I still havent done our album as Im waiting on another 100+ from him but Im beyond stoked with what I already have.
My SIL is also a very gifted amatuer and took some amazing shots for us too.

However the videographer is another story but I would of paid five times as much for the unbelievable dvd we have, worth more than its wait in gold, and the only thing Id stress to all b2bs is get a video!! biggrin.gif

Ours was approx. $800 for the photographer, all the shots and the negs BUT... that didn't include the album, I searched and searched for a photographer to do the shots but wanted to do the album for myself.

Had we had the professional album on there it would have been about $1500

Our photographer wasn't there all day, she arrived just as we were getting ready and left just before we walked into the reception (we've got mock photos of us cutting the cake and the bridal waltz).

If I had the opportunity to go back and re-visit our wedding I'd spend a little more on photography and video than what I did. I was really happy with the photographer but would have liked some digital albums now that I look back on it and possibly someone with just a tiny but more experience.

You're only going to do it once and you want great photos! Hope you win your arguement!

We paid about $3500 for the days coverage, 2 photographers, a proof album and dvd with all photos. We are going to get an album now which will be another $2000 - $2500.

But it is all worth it to get nice memories.
