There is no way I am missing out on a Video of my day. I too cant believe some people dont want one. Just think of all the memories. Most of my family live overseas, so I am planning on sending a few copies over there so they can also share in our day. I must admit I will prob get sick of the full version after a while, but I will always be putting on the Highlights everynow and then.

QUOTE (Miss Polly @ Jan 11 2006, 02:54 PM)

what other songs did you choose leisa??

We chose about 12 discs worth of songs, but the ones of ours he used were:

Eternally - by Sarah Vaughan (beginning trailer)

Lady (hear me tonight) – by Modjo (for boys getting ready)

Sure thing, by St Germain (for beginning of reception)

Let’s never stop falling in love – by Pink Martini (for guest mingling)

Nights in White Satin – by Moody Blues (Bridal Waltz)

Jump in the line – by Harry Belafonte (final partying and closing credits)

I was pretty happy he was able to use mostly our songs – but he went with music he thought was more suitable for other scenes - with which we didn’t mind (e.g. 'My Way' sung in Italian for our wedding ceremony as well as 'The Prayer' which was quite suitable for a Catholic church wedding).

I am def having a wedding vid... in fact we are going against the norm and spending big on the wedding video, with a more modest photography budget!

I have seen on the web some sites that will allow you to set up your own web page...perhaps you can then attach your bits of vid to it for your friends to see...although i don't know how you would do it.

Argh Leis can you please ring my H2B and DEMAND that we have a videographer?? tongue.gif We had a family lunch on Saturday and his favourite uncle who he listens RELIGIOUSLY to was doing his best to talk H2B out of everything.. spending money on a photographer and a videographer were his 2 most vehement targets.. I think I'm going to have a fight on my hands wink.gif

My FFIL was trying to do the same, as was my mother when were discussing the videographer, my argument to them (which shut them up quick smart) was:

"How much would you love to see your parents or grandparents wedding? It's not so much for us, as I'm sure when we first get it we'll watch it a couple of times and then move on, as it is for our children and our children's children and also to capture all those people that may not be with us in a few years time, like Andrew's grandmother that is rapidly losing mobility and her sight is almost gone, my gorgeous nanna who will hopefully be with us for a few years yet. But these are the special people in our lives that our children won't get to spend lots of time with and we'd still like them to be able to see how special these women are/were"

We couldn't afford to go all out on our weddign video unfortunately, but we found one of Andrew's old high school teachers does wedding videography on the side and he's charging us $500 for the whole day , editted however we want it and on dvd, extra dvd copies are $10 each. I'm happy with that! biggrin.gif

After we watched our DVD for the first time (with BIL & BIL's girlfriend) John said something along these lines.

Only he said to us "our little kids will get to watch this one day and say "oh look how handsome daddy looks"........

Funny.. H2B didn't even have a say in the matter.! I think he's happy with whatever I decide on as long as it all sticks in the budget..

Silly him, he's marrying an accountant.. phhtt. as if I can't keep within a budget.!! ahha

I wouldn't think of not getting one for the life of me.. And I'm definitely not one of those girly types either.. Just want something to cherish along with my photo's..

are u guys talking abotua live stream through the net while the actual wedding is happening?? or jsut a web based presentation which is uploaded for all to see??

Both of these are possible, but the first one requires a fair bit of setting up... and of course, a live switching console, a web server with ALOT of grunt (as this would need to be encoded/compressed to a web freidnly format, and enough bandwidth to handle the traffic

No just being able to share the whole edited DVD at a later stage.

On the subject of live streaming, I went to a wedding once where the groom - an owner of a website - decided to broadcast his wedding live to his audience of site members at a partiular time.

The wedding was due to commence at 8pm but the connection had problems. What did he do?

He stalled the wedding till midnight till they could get a connection!

THe poor bride was beside herself. Not only was her h2b an internet junkie spending endless hours on the net at home; but he was actually holding up their wedding in front of all their family & friends just to be able to share it with a bunch of cyber friends he'd never met! blink.gif

(the guy was my Uncle by the way oh yes so embarrasing) *runs away and hides*

laugh.gif Sorry - I thought that story was too funny for words.. And then you added that laugh.gif

We're going to see our videographer on Thursday (which I keep thinking is tomorrow rolleyes.gif) - can't wait biggrin.gif

I don't mind that it's been nearly 4 months since the wedding, it means we're not reliving the day really soon afterwards so I think it'll be a little more special IYKWIM biggrin.gif

I wonder if we'll get to see the bl00dy dolphins everyone was talking about .... unsure.gif
