If you are deciding whether to get a videographer or not - PLEASE DON'T THINK TWICE AND GET A VIDEOGRAPHER!

And if anyone is looking for an amazing videographer here in Sydney and your budget is $3K, please consider ours. He advertises on the @BS but if you want his direct number just PM me.

His effects were subtle yet amazing. None of the tacky corny stuff you normally see; he takes videography to a whole new level (works so hard on the little things, like speeding up the footage of cars passing our church yet slowing down the street flags up above as though he suspended time on our day.

Picture your family dancing, only sped up like old day television, all dancing to ‘jump in de line’ by Harry Belafonte (you know, the feel-good song at the end of Beetlejuice)?

I’ve seen loads of wedding DVDs with similar effects but he even admits this one was different. We refused to do the role playing thing and he told us that brought out a whole different side to his work.

Anyway enough rambling. It’s like seeing your day from the outside and you get to enjoy so much of the stuff you missed (cliché “the day went so fast” is so not an exaggeration).

OMIGOD I'm still on such a high laugh.gif

I must agree!! I was a bit unsure whether to book a videographer for our wedding and I am so glad we did!! We have a raw, nearly uncut version and a version of a 7 minute highights, we paid significantly less than you Leisa and probably do not have all the effects in there but it's still such a wonderful thing to see everything from the outside. tongue.gif

i can see your point, but i really dont want one.

we are having a friends husband tape the ceremony and then the important bits during the night, i am not real comfortable on film too.

we also dont have the money for a videographer.

i love watching everyone elses though!

Yeah I'm the same! Sorry Leisa - I feel like I'm letting you down! hehehe nah I'm not a sentimental type person, I love photos but I know I wouldn't watch my video, so having my brother take a video of the ceremony and speeches etc is enough for me smile.gif

Argh Leis can you please ring my H2B and DEMAND that we have a videographer?? tongue.gif We had a family lunch on Saturday and his favourite uncle who he listens RELIGIOUSLY to was doing his best to talk H2B out of everything.. spending money on a photographer and a videographer were his 2 most vehement targets.. I think I'm going to have a fight on my hands wink.gif

I had my wedding videoed, although not by a professional and although my friends did a good job - i have to agree with leisa!!

DONT SAY NO TO THIS IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT!!

Having your day videoed is so important it is one of the things i wish i had thought more highly of and paid to have...

I was contemplating not doing it due to the cost. But I think it will be a good investment .

I like the idea, leisa, of looking at the day through someone elses eyes.

Am currently trying to convince htb that we should spend a 2K for the video.

We are getting ours done, thanks goodness... mum refused to pay for it, so I am getting it myself - no problem with that - but Glenn was having issues with the $$'s, so I got some samples from friends who had had the same bloke, and now he's sold on the idea. I cant wait!

Getting our wedding DVD was the best decision we made! We both love it (I won't tell you how many times I've watched it already ph34r.gif)! And it only cost $800 for 6 hours!

i agree with you Leisa... if you can afford it, go for it!

It took a little bit of convincing that this would be a great thing to do - and Hubby hummed and haa-ed. Just as he was about to say yes, my dad said that he would take care of it all. And he did! He knew of a couple of guys that do wedding videography, sent us some demo dvds (and not just the demo version, but a full-length DVD!!), and we were sold.

On the day they were fantastic, giving us just a little direction, and arranging some shots which with post-production are going to have some nice effects. They were with us from about 11am through to the end of the reception at midnight. We had two cameras and a spotter (who kept an eye out for anything that might be about to happen that wasn't currently in the cameras' focus).

We are yet to see the finished product - but my dad has seen the unedited footage and says it looks great!
