Ours is 4 weeks (New York, Vancouver, San Francisco, Mexico), but I am a third owner in our business - the other two people are my dad and my brother. I think I feel the worst about it. I know I should take as much time as I can, but I am the only one at work who knows my job, so I need to get somebody in while I am away to do it. I feel like I should be there, but at the same time I don't want to shorten my one and only honeymoon because of work.

Well we're staying in qld for 2 weeks after the wedding, and I will be going to qld on the sunday before the wedding so it'll nearly be 3 weeks... h2b is going up with the gm on the friday before the wedding, so we're making a good break of it!

I voted the 7 nights because that is the actual honeymoon - 7 nights on Brampton Island but I am a teacher so I will have the week before the wedding off and paid cause it is school holidays, the honeymoon which is paid leave and then maybe the monday of the following week off just to recuperate.

H2B is also taking the same leave

We haven't booked yet but we're looking at 11 nights in Vanuatu, so i'll probably have 3 weeks off after the wedding & a couple of days before.

I didn't want to use up all of my annual leave from work.....i'm a bit of a travel junkie & so i like to have some leave for those impulsive spur-of-the-moment-i'm-going-on-a-holiday-moments smile.gif

We had 3 weeks in North Queensland (Palm Cove, Port Douglas, then Dunk Island) and I also had the week before the wedding off. Both of our bosses were fine with that as we hadn't taken any holidays in the past year so we had saved up annual leave. I also organised for my boss to have a temp fill in while I was away.

My fiance and I have been wanting to go overseas for years and have had to put if off a number of times due to work commitments, lifestyle changes etc. So now that we have an opportunity to do it we are going to make the most of it. Check this out for a honeymoon tongue.gif :

8 weeks visiting Brunei, Dubai, All Germany, All Poland, All France, Amsterdam, Brussels, and the UK.

As for getting it through work, I have given so much of myself for my work (and have oodels of leave up my sleeves) so my employees are more than happy to let me go into arrears for it. biggrin.gif

Sooooo, excited. We have our honeymoon booked and paid for and still havent organised the rest of the wedding yet...... but we are going to have an awesome time. This is our trip of a lifetime. smile.gif

We were very lucky. I had savings, we both had casual jobs and uni summer holidays so we went overseas for 10 weeks, it wasn't long enough! It never is rolleyes.gif

We haven't worked out our honeymoon yet but we plan on leaving a week after our wedding on Good Friday until the end of the Easter school break. I won't be taking any time off work. I'll be at work until the day before my wedding and coming back to work on the Monday. School won't be so busy then anyway (I hope). I don't have leave yet and I don't want to take leave either.

H2b plans to take the week before the wedding off as he's being forced by his firm to take his accumulated leave. I don't know how he'll cope as he's a workaholic and he's never ever taken a day off work, not even when he was suffering from severe food poisoning.

I'll have just over a month's worth of a/l when my wedding swings around.

h2b and I have been constantly changing our minds over our honeymoon. We went our for breakie this morning and talked it through and I think (crossed fingers) we have finally made our minds up. We've decided on 3 weeks in Italy with a side trip to Malta.

I really need to book before we change our minds again!

We have 1 night in Singapore, a 2night straits of malacca cruise and then 11 nights in Phuket so 14 nights in total. FH is taking 3 weeks off work and I am taking 4. But then 5 months after the wedding we are heading to New Zealand for a ski holiday so I guess you could say that is almost part of the honeymoon as well smile.gif

Our honeymoon is a couple of days short of 8 weeks and I am having the week before the wedding and the week after the honeymoon off so about 10 weeks in total - can't wait!

I gave work about 12 months notice and I had the leave accrued so I will be fully paid throughout the 10 weeks.
