What's your username? MrsWortho

What are you saving for? New Back Deck

How much do you need to save? Around $2k probably, maybe a little more

How long have you been saving? January 2006

How much have you saved? $0 - we haven't been able to start yet, with only one income, it's a little hard, but now that hubby's back at work and working some OT we can start to trickle a little in.

How much each month can you save? At this stage, about $200

How much do you have left to save? $2000

Will you receive $ from any other source? Hopefully my sister will get her butt into gear and pay us back the $1000 we lent her nearly 2 years ago dry.gif Depending on how long we take, tax refunds will also help (if we get it done beforehand, they'll probably go towards other renos)

When do you need to achieve your savings target by? I'm giving us a date of 30th May, 2006 (My Bday)

What do you need to keep you motivated? A job!! So we can put more money into the savings!! Other than that, no motivation needed - we just need to look outside and see the sandpit to know how much we want a deck!

What is your target this week/month to help save? Get a bargain on MOHs wedding present so that we don't eat away at our money too much biggrin.gif

Did you achieve last weeks/months target? N/A

What do you want as your reward on the last day of this month? To see the savings increased, and a bit of work done. And maybe to go to auctions to price the decking.

Finally, post a picture or tell us something each week/month that helps motivate you and tell us why:

I chose this deck because I love the doors opening up onto it - I would love to get french doors in our lounge room eventually so that the deck and the lounge room can become one big party area biggrin.gif

What do you need to keep you motivated? My MIL2B constantly telling me how much this thing is going to cost tongue.gif

Yay this is very exciting as we just sat down the other day and talked about our "goals" for the year...

What's your username? Ellie

What are you saving for? Deposit for our first home (a flat in Sydney)

How much do you need to save? Probably at least $40 000 (the more the better)

How long have you been saving? March 2005

How much have you saved? $22 000 (checked the balance of our ING yesterday and I was stoked!)

How much each week/month can you save? $2000 a month. Maybe more once we re-do our budget.

How much do you have left to save? I guess at least $18 000 plus money for stamp duty and fees and all that.

Will you receive $ from any other source? Nup.

When do you need to achieve your savings target by? Aiming for Dec 2006/Jan 2007

What do you need to keep you motivated? Looking at the rent receipts in the rent book and thinking about how we are making our landlord rich when we could be paying off our own place.

What is your target this week/month to help save? $1035 per fortnight (direct debited)

Did you achieve last weeks/months target? Kind of. We skipped one fortnight of saving to pay for Christmas presents and food. BUT we also did not go over budget on our overseas trip (which we had saved for for 2 years) and we managed to cover our car getting repaired without dipping into savings. So I am pretty happy with that.

What do you want as your reward on the last day of this month? Ummm I have already had a great reward with our holiday, but I think I will get myself a new sports bra.

Finally, post a picture or tell us something each week/month that helps motivate you and tell us why:
Sorry I don't know how to make a picture go here ! (not great with computer).
