My FH just rang St Marys and because the date we want to get married is on palm sunday, they do not do ceremonies. We dont want to change the date as it is our 10th year anniversary.
That is such a shame as I really wanted to get married in that church.
We might have to settle for a garden ceremony.

There are lots of gorgeous catholic churchs around, would you consider going to another one?

The date being Palm Sunday may cause problems with lots of Catholic Churches, I'm afraid.

If you only wanted St Mary's then maybe a garden ceremony would be lovely. But if you would like a church there are some gorgeous catholic school chapels (st vincents etc) that may let you marry there on Palm Sunday.

Hi,
I'm getting married on 31st March 2007 and am thinking of getting married at St Marys Cathedral in sydney.
We are both catholic but do not go to church very often.

Has anyone gotten married there before and can you please tell me of your experiences with the church.

Trinh

It is such a beautiful cathedral and I would have loved to have gotten married there because it's sooooo beautiful smile.gif but DH hasn't been baptised/christened and we're not that religious.

It's a shame that your wedding date falls on Palm Sunday smile.gif
Married on 22 October 2005

Hi All,

I know this post is old though I am also getting married at St Mary's Cathedral however I am facing the same issues finding a preist that will marry us there. Does anyone have the details of priests that are willing to marry at the Cathedral please?

Thank you,
Daniella

Do you have a local parish priest who would be able to do so? Or if you or your fiance went to Catholic schools they may have a relationship with a certain parish?

DH is Catholic but is from Newcastle and we married in Sydney so we had to find a church with a priest who could marry us. St Patricks in Grovesnor street is a really pretty old church (but nothing like the cathedral!)
