I am the absolute worst liar...ever! blink.gif so I could never get away with it laugh.gif my view is that if it is ok for him to go out and buy motorbikes, dvd burners etc then I can go and spend over $150 on my hair!

QUOTE (Alissa @ Nov 18 2005, 08:50 PM)
DH queried me about it once, and I came back with this logic:

1) I have at least 10 times more hair than him (long and blonde, his is SHORT and..well, thinning. Which is very sexy IMO!)
2) I tend to leave it and only go half as often as him to get a haircut.
3) Therefore I am entitled to spend 20 times as much as him - proportionately! Realistically though I only spend 10-12 times as much, so really I'm saving money...

I love being married to an engineer, so many times I've used logic back at him and it's bitten him on the bum.....don't get me started on how I won the 'toilet seat stays down' argument LOL laugh.gif

I like that....very good!

I dont' have a problem. H2B used to come to the Hairdresser with me and so knows how long I am there and all the things they do. I have always done to my hair what he has wanted so he always thinks it is money well spent. And he knows that I would not go if we couldn't afford it, as it is I only go about once every 10 weeks. Which can be painful toward the end as I cannot do anything with my hair...but I cope.

QUOTE (Lucy HL @ Nov 18 2005, 04:46 PM)
I'm getting my hair cut tonight and it will cost $80. BUT when H2B asks how much it is I tell him $45 only because men just don't seem to understand about haircuts and that a decent one isn't cheap. Am I the only one?? huh.gif

I think he'd be overjoyed if I ever spent $80 - mine are normally between $180-$200

theres no way I could lie - we don't have the sort of budget that he wouldn't notice

but I don't get my hair done near as often as I should

My h2b doesn't care but then my haircuts have never been more than $40! I'm lucky though as most of the time I get my auntie to do it - she's a hairdresser wink.gif

A trip to the hairdresser is usually about $180 for me... I never lie about it, but I actually feel bad myself about how much it costs, so I oftem colour my own hair and get a friend to trim my hair between cuts.

I know where you're coming from though - like goodgirl, I'm a bit like that with clothes. I never lie, but I'm good at being vague. For example, H2B will ask what I bought today - I might answer a top and a skirt, but neglect to mention I also bought a belt, knowing he won't notice when I'm wearing it. Obviously he knows how much I spend, but with us it's more about if it's money well spent... Like, spending $100 on a pair of black heels for work is worth it - $100 on a plain singlet to wear on Sundays to the beach isn't, IYKWIM.

Sorry I'm rambling - this is s'posed to be about wedding hair hey? tongue.gif

I dont think I could lie to my H2B about things like that. He knows I rarely spend money unless we can afford it so he is happy as long as I am happy. Kinda works for me as I'm always happy after I've spent money! lol WIN-WIN situation lol

My hubby probably wouldn't ask how much it cost - because he knows I like to do these things as cheaply as possible!
He shaves his head (well I do it for him biggrin.gif ) so it cost us $10 ages ago for haircuts forever for him ... Maybe I should use the logic that with the money we've saved on his haircuts, I should be allowed to splurge a little?!

Re the clothes - hubby always notices new clothes.. well he says "Is that new?" and I'm too honest and always say "Yes, I bought them [when] for [price]" .. I pretty much only ever buy bargains anyway biggrin.gif

I rarely go to the hairdresssers. I've got straight hair that only needs a trim once in a while and when I do, it's a family friend who works from home. As for my husband, he doesn't cost a thing anymore 'cos I do ones and twos on his hair every three weeks.

If he went to a barber's we'll probably go broke!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

same as some of the other girls in that we have a joint account so there would be no point lying, however i look after the $$ so he would have no clue. on the odd occasion he has asked and choked at the figure and while he doesn't understand why women pay so much for their hair, he does understand that it costs money to look this good LOL!

No need here..... cant count the number of times I've used the "it's my body and i'll spend what I like on it" line on H2B.

But H2B pays for my hair upkeep a lot of the time anyway... so sweet biggrin.gif

But I have found a hairdresser that will put over 50 foils in my long hair and cut it for $110.... so I'm not complaining!

lol @ beachwedding!

Mine costs about $140 now every 6 weeks, but it used to cost over $200 every 4-5 weeks.

h2b knows how much I spend on it, and is very happy now that I've dyed my hair dark brown instead of blonde foils! Only problem now is I get reverse regrowth! The blonde starts growing, and it looks like I have gray hair when the regrowth is only short!

But I put a bit aside for it each week anyway.
