I'm getting my hair cut tonight and it will cost $80. BUT when H2B asks how much it is I tell him $45 only because men just don't seem to understand about haircuts and that a decent one isn't cheap. Am I the only one?? huh.gif

DH queried me about it once, and I came back with this logic:

1) I have at least 10 times more hair than him (long and blonde, his is SHORT and..well, thinning. Which is very sexy IMO!)
2) I tend to leave it and only go half as often as him to get a haircut.
3) Therefore I am entitled to spend 20 times as much as him - proportionately! Realistically though I only spend 10-12 times as much, so really I'm saving money...

I love being married to an engineer, so many times I've used logic back at him and it's bitten him on the bum.....don't get me started on how I won the 'toilet seat stays down' argument LOL laugh.gif

I also spend about $130 each 8 weeks to get my hair cut and coloured. H2B always asks how much and has a heart attack when I tell him, even though he gets the same answer each time he asks laugh.gif He doesnt really care about it too much as its not on a weekly basis or anything, he spends about that much on his precious car. laugh.gif

Oh the ol' hair debate!

My hair costs about $160 every 8-10 weeks and takes 3 hours

Husbands cost $11 every 8-10 weeks and takes 10 minutes

He even parks in the 15 minutes or less parks at Brookside!!!

Let's just say that after all these years he understands that an $11 Aldo's cut for me just wont suffice and if he wants the stunning trophy wife that I am on his arm (hehe) then these things cost money darrhling!

My H2B only cares how much I spend when I'm spending our money or his money, he doesn't care when it's my own money!

No need to lie. I am very bad and hardly ever get my hair cut, I think I have only had it cut twice in the last year.

He goes to the hairdresser more than I do and usually comes home with yet another type of hair product to use.

Though admittedly it was me who came home with a $300 hair straightener that I have used twice in the 8 months I have had it.

No way, we have a joint account so there is no way I could. I don't go indulge a lot so when I do,he is ok with it so long as we can afford it.

today i did!!! Normally i dont - he knows its around $65 for cut and extra $40 for colour. But my usual hairdresser wasnt there so i had another one but he charged me more (hes more experienced even though they told me he would charge the same amount as the other guy...i wish i said something!!! GGGRRRR) So $180 later, i got my hair cut and coloured and styled....mind you it wasnt long - already short but i also brought some products too. We have a joint account but h2b has no idea as he doesnt manage the finances!! tongue.gif

I would say no as I don't about hair stuff but I understand where you are coming from.

Yesterday I went to one of those SES / GM stores and spent $30 on 3 tops and a skirt. I then hid them in my wardrobe and I know I'll just pull them out when I want to wear them and DH will say "I've never seen that before" and I'll say "Oh, I've had it for ages".

DH would never have a problem with anything I spent as I am not stupid with money but I have picked the habit up from muy mum who did it for years with my dad as he had a big problem with her spending money.

It's funny how often you pick up these habits without even realising it..........

Husby pays the credit card bill so he knows how much I spend. It's not really a problem as he spends a lot on golf so it trades out. But hair is reeeeallly expensive here - I pay US$270 for a hair cut and colour including tip.

I would never lie to hubby about anything at all.......

He understands about the hair thingy, and I don't go nearly as often as I should, so it's all good smile.gif

Our finances are combined so we both have access to all of the statements, so there would be no point I guess! He knows these things cost way more for girls and loves it when I get my hair done so it hasn't been an issue.

hey Lucy,

I sometimes do the same. Since moving to sydney my hair went from costing 100 bucks to at least $175!

I just got my hair done this week and as he is away I haven't mentioned it. He will notice but I will avoid figures laugh.gif

There have been times where I have knocked 10-20 bucks off the price. I don't know why because its still alot to pay but somehow it makes me feel better haha.

I don't get it done as often as I used to. My excuse for this week is I am MOH in a wedding next weekend so hey a girls gotta have her hair looking all pretty!
