OMG, you will regret this offer soon!

where were you when I was trying to organise my honeymoon!!!!

Anyway, mine was difficult choice. I am living in the UK and getting married in Australia in January so I didn't want to go too far from australia as I wanted to come back to Sydney before we fly back to the UK. Where would you have suggested to me?

Wow Busterella, I'm in exactly the same situation - I'm living in London and we will fly back to Brisbane for our wedding in Dec 2006!

Selvy: It's absolutely fantastic for you to offer your help! It would be great to hear what ideas you have. Since we will already have spent a fortune on our flights back to oz I think we'll be aiming for a budget option in the sun somewhere. Maybe somewhere near the reef so we can relax and go snorkling! cool.gif Any ideas are very welcome! You're a star!!

already married, so this wouldn't be for our honeymoon.
my husband and I and two of our friends are wanting to plan a holiday for August 2006.

We were originally thinking fly to Honolulu, then cruise to/around Tahiti. But our friends now don't want to spend $10k on anothjer holiday (they did round the world trip earlier this year).

So, just wondering what recommendations/suggestions you would have for maybe a $4 - 6k holiday (could incl flights, but may not have to because of frequent flyer points).
We are more looking at something similar to ou first idea, but not necessarily a cruise.

They have been to the UK, Phuket, America, we have only been to Fiji.

Busterella & sharten

Sorry guys - have been off sick for a few days so only getting a chance to reply to you both now.

So - Aussie honeymoon HUH!

Okay well Queensland islands are always nice. Couran cove (not far from the gold coast). OR.. the Daintree is great.

If you wanted to scale things down, Coffs Harbour is great at the moment - they have moved ahead, nice resorts and fab restaurants!

Are we doing summer or winter? Just so I can have a better insigh in my suggestions.

Also - Captain Cook do some great great barrier reef cruises very nice for a romantic honeymoon (any yum food!). Not the expensive at all.

Let me know about the seasons..

AMY75:

I would suggest Sabah (in Malaysia). It would fit your budget to a tea. It has it all - cute monkeys, breathtaking beaches, great diving some sopping - good food..

LORD HOWE ISLAND -

For thoses wanting a island honeymoon with a difference.
Great diving - its a national park so the marine life is out of this world. There can only be a max of 300 people on the island at any one time so its quiet and nice. Accommodation is varied from basic to deluxe so it has something for every budget.

If this sounds like something you would like let me know and I can give you some more info.

Hi Selvy
We had already booked our honeymoon but was interested to see what you would recommend. We are going to Hayman Island so I hope it is well worth it. It was the hardest part of our wedding to decide on. We did consider Fiji but cyclone season and I know it is in australia as well but just feel more secure. Also the box jelly fish are a worry around that time of the year but at least Hayman have a great pool.

Is it true though that if we go snorkelling on the reef, there are no box jelly fish?

One question as well.....
What tours would you recommend doing once at Hayman Island? Are the box jelly fish something to worry about? Where is the best place to go snorkelling?

ok, it was more then one question.

Hi Shannon,

I hope you're not regretting your offer to help tongue.gif !!!!!

Heres my question!

My husband and I will honeymoon in Europe mid 2006.
We will basically visit England and Switzerland to visit family and see the sights. We are also looking at maybe seeing some of the tour de france depending on where the route is this year.

We will fly from Darwin, probably to London first and then on to Zurich Then back to Darwin.

What airlines do you recommend for a fairly budget traveller(I know its peak season!!!)

Also do you know much about the Eurail network and what the best way is to get to Dublin???

Hope this is not too much trouble for you but you did offer!!!!LOL

Laila:

Okay - best way to Dublin is on the ferry. Cheap and loads of fun.

If you can wait until the first week of november you will be able to take advantage of early bird offers to Europe with savings unpo 50%!

Eurail - this is a fast and fairly cheap way to see europe (plus you get to see the country side at the same side),
a good website for rail is www.railplus.com.au

Any other questions let me know.

PS - Luftanhasa would be the best opion to fly with

Shan

Hi
Im sure you are sick of questions. But heres another where are the best (but inexpensive) places to stay in the whitsundays. We already have three nights accomodation at daydream island and three at boathaven spa resort. We still have 3 night before daydream to fill and three nights after to fill. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Selvy, I'll be married on Dec 9th next year - so it's a summer honeymoon for me! I'm thinking of spending 2 or 3 nights on a Queensland island and spending another 3 nights in the closest town - to try to keep accomodation costs down. I like doing/seeing things on my holidays - I'm not the type of person who can just laze around in the sun reading a book! Do you have any suggestions that might suit my criteria well? Also is there a good time to book or is it always peak prices at this time? Thanks heaps for your help,

Sarah
