Neither Mick or I like the idea of a wedding album, we are just not the sort of people to sit down and look through our wedding photos, so what I've decided to do is make a big (and I mean big) mural and include photos, pressed flowers, wedding invite, marriage certificate etc. and have it framed and hang it on the wall. I think having it some where we can see it all the time is just better value.

What do you guys think, have you ever seen one done?
Married 8th October 2005! I will love you today, tomorow, always!

Sounds like a great idea to me too.

We didn't get an album either but our proofs came as normal photo size so we didn't really see the need of getting them slightly larger to put into an album. Instead we have chosen the ones we love best and bought a set of frames in varying sizes and have our photos up around the house. I know people normally have some wedding photos around but we have perhaps a dozen in our loungeroom alone!

I'm sure that you will have an absolute ball putting your photos etc together

I've seen something similar done & it looked great. They had their favourite photo enlarged to poster size in the middle with lots of photo's all around the outside & professionally framed etc.

I think it's a great idea. We thought about doing it, but decided on an album. I have lots of photo's in all different frames scattered around the house, but I think it would look great to have them altogether.

Go for it!

We actually have an album but we bought a stand for it and have it on display in our house, changng the pages every now and again. I hated the idea that we had paid so much for something and then put it away in a box!

I think that the mural sounds like a great idea! An idoer that I know had one done like this - I think that it looks wonderful!

I saw one being made up the other day. It was at a craft store during a scrapbooking group. This bride had purchased a plastic box from a cheap shop (the bigish ones) and had put anything and everything to do with the wedding in it. Then she got this special frame made, it looked like 16 times the size of an A4 paper, it was huge. Then she just got some cardboard and sticky taped them together to make it big enough (I only saw the cardboard, not the actual frame, but still it was HUGE). Then she just used her pictures, etc.. as you would a normal scrapbooking page (only bigger). The one thing she did say though (I am thinking of doing it but on a smaler scale) was to ask the celebrant for 2 certificates (one to keep for official things, and the other to put into the frame) apparently her sister had her marriage certificate done with her flowers, and had to take the certificate out cause she needed to take it to places.
Sorry for any typos, I have a dislocated shoulder nerve.
