..and you're looking for a wedding photographer PM me and I will give you her details.

I'm posting this because I just found out she has moved from R*yment and started her own place at Coorparoo. I'm guessing she won't charge as much for her packages as R*yment as she is just starting out.

In my opinion she was the greatest photographer and she was so willing to help us out. She was even going to stay and shoot our reception for free but her (then) boss called us to say, no, if she was to stay we had to pay an extra $500.

We are so happy with our album but we really paid through the nose for it. I wish I had known back then she was starting her own business because I would have gone with her place for sure.

P.s: I also found out she is a well regarded drag racer laugh.gif I know that has nothing to do with the price of eggs in China but it shows you what a cool chick she is!

Aaaaaaargh!!!! You had to let us know this AFTER I've already picked our photographer??? wink.gif
Your photos were so, so stunning, so it's very tempting to check her out...... She certainly is VERY talented...

One reason we didn't go with R*ment was because we couldn't get the negs on DVD - do you think your photographer would offer that in her new studio?

Having said that we do LOVE our photographer! biggrin.gif

We also went through R*yment but we had the owner... though they had a very similar style . The service we recieved was outstanding and we couldn't be more happy with the way our pics turned out (but we also paid through the nose!!) I would recommend both photographers to anyone. But your comment about not getting the negs on DVD Ponine... I found to be bizarre. We received a CD with all the pics taken on the day (500 of them) which were high quality and we're also getting a slideshow set to our music of around 150 of the best pics.

Anyway, I just want to say again... Siobhan, your photos were absolutely stunning!!!

Yes, we went in and met John, and just fell in love with his warm and funny personality, as well as his photos....
However, the "CD" you mention, (John explained this to us) while I'm sure is a very high "quality" really only contains "low resolution" photo files in jpeg format. Basically this means that they can only be reproduced as a standard small photo (5x7) or viewed on a PC (or emailed), which is very different from what we were after, which is the "high resolution" digital negatives (RAW format). These can be reproduced in all types of ways....enlarged etc.. and they are saved on DVD because they are far too large to fit on regular CDs.
Just depends on what you are after really. For most people the low res jpeg files are sufficient....

Just thought I'd explain...otherwise yeah, I would have gone with him for sure!

This is correct- and this is why I haven't been able to submit my piccies to any wedding magazines. sad.gif

This is fair enough but as I said before I would DEFINITELY go with Diana. For someone to take photos that cool at her age is just too unbelievable. She actually used to freelance between R*yment and another well well known photographer.

Wow John did our wedding pics 5 years ago and he was the most reasonably priced at the time - my how things must have changed!

I must say he had an assistant on our wedding day whose name was Hatty I think and she was just gorgous and a real hoot! Really made the day laughable which was fun!

We are thinking of getting family portraits done by him soon - but now that I hear that people have 'paid through the nose' for his work I wonder if he'll be competitive with that? blink.gif

Oh no!! sad.gif You HAVE to get those gorgeous photos out there for everyone to see. I know they would inspire so many people. smile.gif
Do you think the studio will let you have some high resolution shots just for the purpose of submitting them to the wedding mags (or even submit them on your behalf)? Surely their wedding photos of you in a high profile magazine can only mean good publicity for business?

Additional feedback for R*yment photography.

I made an appointment to talk about wedding photography early last year. This was before they moved their studio from beneath their home. I spoke with John and explained how I had done research, and we were interested in having him take our wedding photos. Things were going smoothly until he started offering his opinon on the consequence of my fiance not attending the appointment. He told me that in his experiance everytime a groom has not attended the appointment, the wedding would fail or they will never actually marry. I had attended the appointment with a friend, my fiance had to work. (shock horror) We run a family business, someone had to be at work. H2b supported my choice of wedding photography studio. I was wanting to confirm, book and pay deposit that evening.

After his negative comments, (which i agree he is entitled to his opinion) I couldnt leave quickly enough. Personally I dont not see the point of telling a potential client their marriage is doomed.

I was put off speaking to wedding professionals for a while after having such a negative experiance with a potential wedding photographer.

Rant over.

Wow I can't believe he said that ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

When we went for our first appointment we saw Diana straight away because John was already booked for our wedding day. We didn't get the friendliest vibe from him, and at the time we thought it was because we were only 'basic package customers' (I would have thought over 7K on wedding photos would make you a golden client but hey obviously I'm not that elite dry.gif )

When we designed the album he was very helpful but that's neither here nor there, I just want everyone to know that Diana Harker has her own studio now and she's one of the best in the bizz laugh.gif laugh.gif

YES!!!

That's her...she is one cool chicka.

I remember at the final meeting before the big day I was not a happy camper. Had just had full leg, gstring and underarm wax, nail appointment, hair appointment and was stressed to the max. But I distinctly remember Diana was so soothing and patient and really made me feel so confident that the photography at least, would be under control. I gave her pictures I had cut out of bridal magazines as examples and she replicated every single one.

Thank you for the heads up on Di@n@!

I looked at your pics, which are stunning and so I am booking her for my wedding. She is not to high and not to low a price range. But you can get her to shoot non-album for pretty low, but I would rather the album.

Wow she is great. Yay! Thank you! I didnt even need to look around biggrin.gif.

Oh that is so awesome honey!

Give her a hug for me will ya?

I was just looking at my album last night thinking about how MUCH she gave to Clayton and I, our future kids, and their kids, through those beautiful photographs.

Every time I look at them I feel like I'm there again wub.gif
