Which reminds me, have to book in for the pre-marriage course thingo through Centacare. Does anyone else have to do anything similar?

We did the one day course there and it was really good. I'm not Catholic but DH is so I was a bit hesitant about it but it was really worthwhile.

Hi Canberra lovelies!

I have been a bit slack with the posting, but (as promised) here are the details of my big day...

Date: 19 March 2006 (Sunday of the Canberra Day long weekend)
Ceremony & Reception: G!nn!d$rry Homste@d
Type of reception: Cocktail - stand up, finger food and drinks
Dress: From the same place as Heather in Queanbeyan. Here's a piccie (excuse the obvious lack of underwear ohmy.gif this will be recitifed!) Dress

Hmmm, what else? I haven't booked anything else, except the DJ. Anyone got any ideas for wedding night accomodation??

ETA - updated my ceremony/reception location!

We have chosen Rydges capital Hill for our wwedding night Accom. It is lovely with an atrium spa bath and choccies and champers. The poeple were really nice. Otherwise the Hyatt, but my brother stayed there so I didn't want to.

Your wedding sounds fab and your dress is lovley! I love the back of it!

Nice to hear from you.

Hello Girls,

I have been suffering from i-do withdrawal all weekend, but I did have a fabulous weekend away. I tried to get on here Sat night to see you dress Heather but the internet wouldn't work. I had this huge fight with an @ptus IT support and I'm sure he thought I was nuts when I explained why it was so important!!! laugh.gif anyway back to the weekend it was rainy and cold but we had so much fun, it was such a nice break. We went to an auction on Sun and I 'won' a mirror. This huge gilted gold framed one, it is so pretty.

Heather - I LOVE the dress, it is so pretty. You look gorgeous, you must be so excited!! My pics are almost up (have got them in a locked file on the laptop and just need to get it away from Mike for 5 mins so I can load them into the album biggrin.gif )

Jess you look stunning in that dress. Very nice choice. Us Canberra brides have such good taste!! laugh.gif Especially with reception venues.

I can't find who asked the question but I will answer it, we have to do min of 6 pre marriage 'sessions' (1hr each) with an officer form our church (doesn't have to be th eones marrying us thank god as they are in Brisbane, though it would be a good excuse for regular trips, Hmmm) we must complete them before they will sign our intension to marry thingy. The course has a high fail rate though. Our Officer told us that 25% of couples who do the course deciede against marrying (no always forever, some just put it off till they are both completely ready) .

We need to catch up everyone . When ???

Hi Girls,

Nice dress Jess, i was wondering when the Canberra long weekend was on for next year, i'm getting married weekend after, same as Heather.

Me and Marco have'nt decided where we are staying on our wedding night, but for our honeymoon decided we will go over to Europe. Marco has family in Italy, so stay with them and travel out from there and go to England, Ireland, Paris and wherever we decide. Marco keen to see Japan, so may do a stopover on the way over. I am slowly reading my Lon&ly Pl@net guide when i have time on night duty and writing down places I want to go.

Hi hi,

Good to hear from you heather - I thought for a minute you had disappeared!!

The honeymoon is in QLD so only a flight to Brissie, then to shute harbour then transfers. So YAY!! Can't wait!!

I know how you feel about the puppy. We can't use out clothesline anymore cos Declin pulls the clothes off and chews them. We built a fence around it but he just jumps over now!!! So naughty - can't wait for him to grow out of his destructive stage!

Heather your initations are nearly ppicked??? That is like one of the BIG things done - congrats! We are looking at ours in the next couple of weeks (school holidays) and hopefully get them going then.

As or a canberra catch up, I am happy as I said to organise a brunch or something, I think that would be lovely. maybe we can choose somewhere in the entertainment book. I have one and others might too.

Let us know girls - get those thinking caps on!

Hi hi,

yep Heather, no worries. PM me and we can get somthing teed up! Oh, this will be great finally meeting you all!

Oh, when Declin got desexed he was so sad and placid. I wanted him to go back to the real Declin. It took no time and he was crazy again, so savour the moment!

I can't believe you have done stationery! That is so exciting! When you PM me could you let me know who you went through?? Thanks! You are so organised! I love it!

My mum is coming up in the holidays and we are doing stationery and bonbonierre. I am so excited to be shopping for this stuff! We are going to do one version of our bonbonierre and centrepiece and make sure we like them, then we can buy all the stuff and start putting it together!

I have been quite slack lately with the eating too. It is so cold and miserable that it is a comfort! But I too am getting back to it. I have however been very good with the exercise. Go me! hehehehe

Talk to you Sat Heather....you other girls in?

Claire

Just thought I'd check in and see how everyone's plans are going.

Heather - you are so organised! I had a play around with photoshop and came up with a design for invites in our colour theme (pink and chocolate brown) but I have no idea how they're going to actually be printed! I went in to an art store the other day and had a look at some paper and stuff...I think I will be able to pull them off myself...hopefully:(

At this stage, we are having a friend of ours do the photogrpahy. He is not a professional photographer (as in it's not his job) but he has done some professional work before. It will just mean that we will have to brief him up really well beforehand and take him out to our location to have a looksie before the big day. I didn't want an album or anything done up for us (I'd like to do this myself) so it should work out okay. Plus I have to brief photographers on occasion as part of my job so I'm pretty confident about that bit.

I have also booked my BMs (best friend and my sister) in for a planning day in a few weekends time. We are going to sit around at my house, trawl through the hundreds of bridal mags I have for hairstyles and shoes and get tipsy on champagne...surely this wedding planning caper isn't as stressful as it's made out to be!

Have a good weekend ladies - good luck with any further planning.

Jess

Hi chickies!

Well, today I did my DJ, went and paid more off my flowers, booked dancing lessons and am at the moment trying to find minature buckets for our favours. I feel like I am getting a lot done as I am on holidays and have so much time (sorry to rub it in!).

The excitement of my weekend - WE GOT OUR RINGS!!!

YES, YES, very exciting! I have put pics of mine in my sig, not H2B's yet, but I will get there!

How are plans going girls?
