Will PM you with our photgrpaher. I was DELIGHTED with our pics and she was so nice on the day. Both hubby & I felt relaxed. We paid way under $1000 and got the digital negs and 100 x 5x7's in a book. Seriously scouldn't have been happier with our photographer. There was a good combo of natural, arty and mooshy shots.

Most photographers do not give you full copryright. To order re-prints you need to order them through the photographer. After a few years sometimes they sell you the copyright/negatives.

We had meetings with over 20 photography companies in Brisbane, and including the guy we are using only 3 had the copyright/negatives as part of the package, there were some that said we could purchased them after a few month, and some even longer. There were also 2 that refuse to sell the copyright/negatives at any stage.

And yes I know digital doesn't have negatives, but not all the photgraphers were digital.

Leonie,

For professional photography of a domestic nature (ie; wedding and/or portrait), the law in Australia is such that the commissioning agent (usually the subject(s)) own the copyright in the images.

Unless you signed a contract specifically assigning these rights to your photographer the copyright is still yours - regardless of any other "policy" they may have in writing or whatever (but not signed by you).

They are conning you - don't fall for it.

We are getting copyright. But as I said most photographers do charge extra for copyright, be it right or wrong by them to do so. But yes I agree with you, even if it wasn't law I still feel it is a photo of you then you have copyright.

have a look at my photos if you want, and if you're interested I can pm you her details when i get back home! (away for work at the moment)

lovely lady

got CD's of high quality pictures (so we can have our own printed)

coverage from my house till start of reception (would have included groom b4 ceremony, but i was getting ready on the south side, him on the north, so very difficult)!

150 5"X7" printed photos of our choice

about $1000, but the best bit was she did a photo registry - so our guests paid for everything bar about $30!

We had booked Helen for our wedding in March but today she contacted me (well, replied to an email I sent her) to cancel. I was really impressed with the work she did for Renee.

I'm now also on the look-out for a photographer in the Brisbane/Gold Coast area so can you lovely ladies also PM me with who you had. Thanks smile.gif
