Oooh yes - I'd like to know too please!! One Brisbane photgrapher I went to is charging $4,995  (I'm not kidding) just for a DVD slide show set to music, that's on top of everything else (album costs, coverage, etc.)!!

WHAT THE??????

I know, I know....I was nearly heartbroken when I saw the prices because I had fallen in love with his photography.... unsure.gif Oh well, never mind!!!
This same photography studio did the "coffee table book packages" for around $4,000 (depending on your hourly coverage time).
They do give you 2 of them for that price, but they have to be exactly the same, and they only have 20 sides (10pages) each!!!

you need to understand though that the 20 side coffee table albums are in a very differnt league

I do understand - completely.....just way out of MY league altogether though!!! tongue.gif laugh.gif tongue.gif
(and personally I didn't think the layout or hand-binding of his coffee table books were THAT much different from the momento books, just the content (photos) which makes the difference)
Edited to add: BTW these are his coffee table BOOKS, not the magazine ALBUMS, that I was talking about...his magazine albums are 4 grand for just one of them, and they are for 16 sides only....

I did consider it for about 15 minutes, but I guess I just couldn't justify the expense in the end, even though this photographer is the most awarded wedding photographer in Queensland (which is why his work is so expensive). This isn't just wedding photography... his work would be classified in the art and photography world as one-off works of photographic art....

Microsoft has a free program that you can do this with?

You can make either CDs or DVDs with it I believe.

I've only done CDs as I don't have any blank DVDs.

And...it's FREE!

Hiya guys, the program that i found was at Harvey Norman. There is also Adobe programs that do the same. I'm actually probably leaning more towards the Adobe programs. There are two which you can get as a package which is Adobe photoshop elements 3.0 plus Adobe Premier Elements. I've checked in aussie stores and photoshop elements on it's own is $179.95, but off amazon.com i can get both programs for $99.95US which equals about $130.00 aussie dollars. I have to upgrade the RAM on my computer to do this, but it still all works out cheaper than getting a DVD made from the photographer for around the $500 mark, and i can arrange the photo layouts for my album and also, then it is something i have forever and can make DVD's of our honeymoon pics as well and heaps of other stuff. If i decide to get it (which i probably will in a month or so) i will let you know how it goes. But every review i've read on the product says it's really good. You can also edit digital video stuff, so if you have a digital video you could do that as well for your wedding. Heaps of options.

Thanks for all the ideas girls- I am looking into the programs that you have mentioned. I came across this site www.myphotofun.com.au which is similar to Momento- it doesn't look as nice (IMO), but might be worth while looking at if you are on a budget.

I also got a price from a proper binder- it will cost about $70 to have 30 pages bound (that was just one quote though). I wanted to see how much it would cost to get the photos printed properly at a lab, and then bound.

The Mac equivalent of that software is iPhoto. It's brilliant for setting up a dispaly to show freinds and family. You can even add a projector, your own music, and you've got a unique display of your wedding.

Hi Alicia,

Linda said her cost $160. The prices are all on the momento website but it depends on how many pages you want, and if you want a dustcover front as well.
pretty reasonable I reckon - compared to some of the photo albums I've seen!
I've just downladed the software and am starting to do my layout too.

If you are unsure about momento, ask them to send you a sample page- I received a sample page and it has helped us to decide to order one.

That link looks great, I might look at doing that myself. I was thinking of paying a company to do it. But I might do it myself now.

Thanks for showing your album Linda it looks great
