i'm not getting an album package with our photography and was wondering if any of you know any good computer programs that you can use to make your own digital albums?? Let me know if you do!

Cheers,

Hi there Shell!
THIS is what I'll be using to put my coffe table book together..... Unique, and much much less expensive than getting it done by the photographer...
I think you should give it go. smile.gif

I'll definitley be using it for inspiration when the time come to do mine.....thank you so much for sharing it. smile.gif
Did you do it all yourself or did you get a graphic designer to lay out for you? It looks very professional - it looks great!!!!

Thank you Rowena cool.gif

I did it all myself...Took me a fair while to get the layout 'just right' though rolleyes.gif But I had fun with it too. Thought I'd order a copy for the in-laws and my parents as well biggrin.gif

That's a great idea - they'll be thrilled with it!!
Normal photo albums are so expensive that parents don't get usuallly get a chance at having the "full" album. This way they'll get something beautiful to look at over and over and not have to give back!! You could even tailor it to suit them ie. more photos of "their" side of the family, etc.... biggrin.gif

Thanks sooooo much for posting that link Linda- It looks gorgeous!

I am actually considering them at the moment. Were you happy with the quality of the printouts (the colours of the photos, and the paper used etc). Any feedback would be appreciated, as I also have some friends who are considering using them.

Thanks,

R

I have used flilpalbum to do my digital wedding album I put it onto a cd to play on the computer.

I did one for the professional photos and another for the photos taken by guests and friends.

I found it quite easy to use and looks just like a book on the computer, I can print it out in hardcopy if I want to as well.

I personally was very pleased with the 'craftsmanship'-the quality of the paper etc...The colors are obviously not as 'crisp' as a real photographs. Hubby really loved the book as well tongue.gif It's a great novelty-and only cost me $160

I'm not going to say WOW -it was FANTASTIC...because honestly I have nothing to compare it too IFYKWIM rolleyes.gif and then somone might come back at me and say 'it's not as good as so and so'... unsure.gif

I will definitivly make another book in the future (with my graduation pictures...so a good few months away rolleyes.gif )

I've also bought a 'professional' leather album (off eBay) that I'll make my own enlargements also though...

thanks so much guys for that, momento looks like it's worth a go. Just wondering linda can you have the pages done in black rather than white, or it that all they come in??

I've had a bit of a look into some other programs today as well, and i've found one for $ 99.95 which you can do a DVD slideshow to music of your choice which is awesome, seeing photographers are charging $500 for something like that. Think i'll look into that as well then i can just burn as many copies as i like and send them off to family and friends.

Oooh yes - I'd like to know too please!! One Brisbane photgrapher I went to is charging $4,995 huh.gif (I'm not kidding) just for a DVD slide show set to music, that's on top of everything else (album costs, coverage, etc.)!!
