PrincessC, thank you for your suggestions. I was originally thinking of wearing the veil the whole time & wanted it pinned under my hairstyle as I didn't want to hide my hair (also thought I'd pull my hair out by taking the veil out) however I'm noticing that lots of brides have taken the veil out after the ceremony with not a strand out of place.

I looked at your photo's & your hair looks stunning (as did everything else).

So now thinking veil in for ceremony & out for reception.

I wanted to post this earlier - but too busy at work today sad.gif . I think you look so pretty in the makeup trial pics (like everyone has said). The simpler, and softer style really suits. I think the high style is so severe - that's what is creating the cone head look. Even a high style with curls or Jackie O style waves around the face would suit a little more.

I didn't wear my hair up for my wedding, but if I had I would have gone for a low bun with waves (a la Jackie O), or a high up do with softness around the face. I have a similar face shape to you (I think) so I know that some height can be good.

The dumb hairdresser got it all wrong thank god for trials. You are so pretty and have such lovely hair - you could look stunning! You still look nice in that photo but she did it too high or something

Your makeup trial well thats another story you look angelic - keep the makeup artist and sack the hairdresser

sorry if i offended I didnt mean to - its not your fault and im glad you have an honest h2b

for what it's worth, you don't look like a conehead, or a relative of Marge Simpson. I can see why you would have chosen it, for height, but it might just be at that particular angle that she created it, that made you feel a bit uncomfortable.. Perhaps a little lower or a different upstyle would ease off the Marge Simpsonesque style. I think your makeup is fabulous! So natural and so beautifully applied. Your makeup artist knows her stuff! Great colour choices.

i think the hair and make up looks fine! perhaps the cone (as you call it) could be a bit lower but I do like the style you ae trying for.

i think in a previous thread you said you had someone that worked for the art of hair?? i am having someone from there as well and i was happy with what they did.

I agree your make up is stunning - I also think - in a wedding dress you might not look marge simson-ish - however - if the boy is laughing.... there isn't much option than to change it smile.gif

Penelope's hair is a lot finer than yours - the pic of Julie Robers would look fantastic - ok - with hair like than - you are going to look fantastic no matter what!!

Well I've booked in for another trial this Saturday biggrin.gif & now that I'm not so hell bent on wearing the veil underneath the style, it should be much easier to do the styles I was originally keen on. Will post the piccies, so watch this space....

Thanks for all the nice words girls wub.gif you've certainly made me feel fabulous conehead or otherwise laugh.gif

Yep Busterella, this woman used to work at the AoH and now teaches them apparently.

PS I'm really keen on the Jackie O style too, hairdresser felt a more polished hairstyle would suit my dress but really Jackie O's style is just so gorgeous, how could it not suit ANY dress??!!

PPS If anyone wants my make up artists details, please feel free to PM me. She is truly great at what she does & her costs are really reasonable. Didn't know her before my trial but have been recommending her left, right & centre

I'm so late replying but just had a quick squizz at your photos. Firstly your makeup looks gorgeous!!!

You would definitely suit a softer do. Have you decided on the Jackie O style? That would look fantastic. I've also got that hairstyle in my bridal folder and I'm thinking of a similar style myself.

I have three hair photos of the same hair photos in my folder! The Julia Roberts down style, the "love the hair" photo" and the "love the clip" photo. We have similar shaped faces so that's probably why we've gone for similar styles wink.gif I think the Jackie O style is lovely but I feel for my face shape it would make my face look rounder. Anyway just my 2 cents worth!

Was the hairdresser basing her style on the "love the clip" photo?

You should check out Girlbelts photos because she has a lovely low bun style (which also features in my hair folder).

Hey Sam, I've checked out Girlbelts photo's & really like the style. If you notice most of the piccies I have are a low bun style. I kind of let the hairdresser do what SHE thought was best cause I thought "well, she's the expert". Oh well, this time I'm going to get her to do exactly what's on my piccies.

I have to agree with all the girls, your make-up is STUNNING.

I honestly don't know what sort of style would suit you, but your best to work around your face frame (small/ round) along with your dress. When you have your next hair trial try to wear something with the same top half of your wedding dress (if you are having no straps then wear a boob tube to the trial).

Ok! Had my 2nd trial yesterday & I'm much happier this time! I have put piccies in folder. It looks a little messy as my hair was just a little too short in areas to smooth down properly & 1 section at the bottom had dropped out. However in the next couple of months my hair will be a few inches longer and she guarantees me it will look a lot smoother and neater.

I also have some beautiful crystal hair pins but I had taken them out by the time we took the photo's. We were going for the look of 'hair idea 1' in my pics folder with the front of Penelope's hair style.

I think the only minor change I'll make on the day is to not have the 'bun' spread quite so wide, just a little more compact. Other than that I love it & I felt like me!

I'd love to hear any opinions or suggestions biggrin.gif
