Matamanoa Island Resort was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to go to an island paradise. It was clean, the staff were so friendly, they had well organised activities, the food was great, you certainly don't go hungry. We had the dinner meal plan which was great. Breakfast is complimentry so you eat as much as you can for breakfast and you don't need lunch!

If anyone wants me to answer any questions about Matamanoa please PM for details.

I promise you, you wont be disapointed.

Really thought Sonasali would have gotten their act together by now. We went in 2002 and they had alot of issues then but they had gotten new management in and were really trying to pull the resort around for the better. Doesn't sound like they were successful.

Did you by any chance eat in the exclusive restaurant while you were there? That is where we spent most of our dinners. The staff were so amazing when we went and the food was to die for.

We wouldn't go back but if we went to Fiji again and were at an island close by, we would definitely do a day trip over just to go to the restaurant.

We thought that their act was not together at all, not sure what issues you had but we had a few from......lunch taking 3 hours to get and just having to stop the order (not once but a few times) them taking our washing with out us asking and then charging us $43 and when we asked for it to go it never got picked up.

Taking over 2 hours to get a ice buckect to the room then the ice arriving in a bag and the guy saying you just have to use the sink wink.gif and to top it off every activity that we did started late (about 30 mins) and finished early, that is if it did not break down. Them canceling activities only to be to 5 mins before, we they knew the day before. Or to find out that your crusie was stopped as the bosses son wanted to use the boat WTF!!! And when you did get to go on your cruise they stuffed it up by not going to the right places, serving the BBQ lunch cold and not giving you your welcome drink and then charging you $3.50 for a coke.

Well that is about all that happend by dsay 5 of our 11 day stay. About all that happens affter that is us tring to get out of the resort but can not get a refund sad.gif, I thought that we desrved a little less stress for our close to $400 per night and then paying for activities on top of that that cost up to $120 per person and so after a few tears we gave up and just ate room service and stayed in our room listening to the work men and their trucks. Very romantic!!!!!!!

But in saying all of that we did eat at at the flash restaurant twice and it was very nice, it was one part that is a must do. Not that I would reccomend any one to go there in the first place.

Hi We booked in January this year (Wedding is October) never to early especially as one thing we didnt realise was alot of the cheaper fares sell out really early!!! we are going 2 days after wedding now to save $$ on airfares as we couldnt justify paying $500 more. Sooooo if money is not a prob do it when u like, but if it is i would be running there.. just my 2 cents

Tokoriki for sure! A bit pricey but it's your honeymoon! We would be going there but we have a 1 year old son and no kids allowed! We're going to Mololo, which also looks beautiful, but I would definitely recommend Tokoriki for romance and seclusion!

OK my narrowed down choices are, in order of preference:

1. Tokoriki
2. Matamanoa
3. Outrigger

Not sure why really, just the level of enthusiasm received for each! biggrin.gif

Still haven't booked anything though, I'm not sure when we will be going as my family will be visiting from overseas so it will depend on their movements. CAN"T WAIT!!!

WE wanted to go to Tokoriki (that is what our travel agent first suggested), but it ended up being out of our price range.

Matamanoa is adults only, as is Tokoriki. No one under 16 allowed.

yeah I knew Tokoriki was, as that is where we originally were going to go, until we worked out everything we wanted and realised it was just a little bit too expensive. So then we decided on Treasure Island and The Warwick.
