Hey girls

I know this should be in the meeting thread but i know all of sue's friends use this forum so I thought I'd catch you all.

I caught up with Sue yesterday and something she said got me thinking.

So many of us are so grateful for all her fabulous hard work and I'm sure all of us would love to thank her and I was wondering if anyone else was interested in the idea of maybe a boat cruise cocktail party in her honour. I know that all of us are so dear to her and it'd be wonderful for all of us to get together and share our stories and for Sue to have all of her girls together for a nice evening.

Girls let me know if you'd be interested in something like this? I'd be happy to arrange festivities, I just need to know roughly how many people are keen and when people think it would suit. Also if anyone else has ideas? boat cruise? just hire a hall somewhere? Would everyone be happy to contribute by bringing along a plate of food??? That way we keep it simple but from the heart.

What do you guys think??????????????????

Melanie

I think that's a great idea Melanie!

Cost is an issue for me. So simple and from the heart is great... Sue really is a Gem!

I'll sus out halls etc, I'm happy to foot the hiring charges... I know a great hall in new farm that could be do-able with a nice outside under cover area and also an inside area...

Well if we make it bring along a plate and byo (unless I find some unusual place that lets us bring along plates of food but serves alcohol .. .maybe a bowls club)... That way its a very cheap night out for most people...

I'll put together some decorations etc too.... thats no probs (got quite a stash here at home already)

I would be up for it too, instead of hiring some where can we just have it at someones house???? I guess that depends on numbers though???? Maybe start with a rough date on who can come list.

I can hire a venue pretty cheap so thats not an issue...

I just figure a venue is easier because then someone isnt lumped with lots of cleaning - and I have no idea how many brides there are out there of hers that are keen to come.

If there are only a handful of girls then at someones place is good - and I'm happy to host it at our place in indooroopilly.... but leave it with me, I'm sure I'll find the perfect venue for a really lovely evening.

Thanks again for everyones support in this!

Well that's really strange. Your emails mustn've gone through. She'd never do that. I emailed her and she replied a few hours later and added me to MSN so we chat online now! I've only had a few dealings with her but so far she's gone out of her way to help me so if this get together is after our first meeting count me in! If not well I kinda feel weird turning up when I've not met her yet. Meeting with her on the 18th this month. Can't wait! She's the best!

Hi Melanie,

I'm in too! Sounds great!

Let me know where/when or if you need a hand with anything!

I'm happy whichever way suits everyone best!
