Hi laides,

I am desperate need of help!@ my h2b is so fussy with his music..I of course like slow romantic songs, he can;t stand anything slow....and at the moment, we are not even having a wedding dance, does anyone know of any songs I can compromise on!@

Married my sweetheart, and loving life...

Sorry I can't help you here, as h2b and I are having a slow song...h2b is very into different music to me but we know we can't have a fast song for our first dance as neither of us know how to dance...and we didn't get lessons so we're just having a slow song and will be doing a bridal sway rather than a dance! That was our compromise as h2b really didn't want to do a full on dance.

We're thinking about having Jamroquai "you give me something" because H2B is NOT a dancer! At least this song is funky, we can sort of "muck around" dance to it, which is more our style, rather than a formal slow dance.

jodi what a great idea!!!! I see so many grooms who look like their rather be pulling their own teeth out than dancing up there to some sappy love song....... I think its fantastic you guys can get up there to a funky song and just have a bit of a laugh!!! That'll really be entertaining for the guests as well, and they will be more likely to get up and dance after that too!!!

Thanks melanie, thats what we thought too!! But I have to say H2B wanted "sexual healing" initially. Couldn't see us grooving to that in front of my great grandma!

We are going to dance to a Bon Jovi song called "Thank you for loving me". I guess it is a little slow... but I thought being Bon Jovi i don't feel like it is too soppy (like celine dion or something). Every time I hear it now, I just can't wait! smile.gif

How about everlasting love by U2 - it has fantastic lyrics - but not sappy and slow - compromise??

We are using this song as our first dance, my H2B is also not a fan of soppy songs (I love changing the station to love song dedications just to tease him!).

He in fact chose this song, and its one of my favs as well...so i couldn't say no...

Heres the link if you want to listen First Dance Song - Somewhere over the rainbow

A few of the i.do girls are using this song as well!

Goodluck with you search!

We used the Israel Kamakawiw'ole song as well! Was beautiful, but we used it for the goodbye, leaving the reception song, was great! We thought about using it for the dance, it's a fabulous version, love it!

My H2B is not much of a dancer (he gets embarrassed rolleyes.gif ) but he picked our bridal waltz (Iris by Goo Goo Dolls) and I feel the fact that he picked it means he's more 'into it' IYKWIM? Try to get him involved in the selection.

Well at least your H2B is thinking of his feelings for you - "Iris" starts out with "I'd give up forever to touch you..."

And here's what you girls need to say to your H2Bs - "Can you find a song you like that expresses what you would like to say to me?".

And as for actually dancing, don't worry about it too much - at 95% of the weddings in my hotels over a 10 year period, the bridal couple just did what I came to call "the cuddle & shuffle". Girls, if he is holding you, and looking into your eyes, and maybe even singing the words to YOU - even under his breath - what more could you want?
