Now I'm really looking forward to our honeymoon in Tasmania! We've got just over 4 weeks to go and things are so hectic and stressful that I can't wait until it's just the two of us with nothing to do biggrin.gif
Our first night together will be in Toowoomba where we marry, then the following night in Brisbane then off to Tassie for two whole weeks ! Yay!! I'm not much of a bikini girl, so sitting in front of a fire snuggling sounds like heaven to me biggrin.gif

So any suggestions on where we must go/what we should do or see while we're there? We'll be spending time in Launceston, Devon, Cradle Mountain, Hobart and Bicheno. The Cadbury factory is at the top of the list, along with cheese tasting and wine tasting, exploring caves, a bit of hiking and catching up on sleep!

Unfortunately we won't get to see the Salamanca Markets because we don't get to Hobart until Easter Monday. Oh well.

Um I don't think you will be snuggling in front of the fire at this time of the year LOL its actually hot here at the moment our weather is quite similar to Melbourne weather.

The Cadbury factory is a must yum we did that on our honeymoon we also visited the Salmon Ponds out at New Norfolk (hubby liked it)and had lunch in their pancake parlour their we also did the Tahune Airwalk I didn't go much on this but I guess it depends what sort of person you are I don't like heights and I'm not much of a tree lover biggrin.gif but it was something different.

The Boags tour in Launceston is really good

You will have a great time in Tassie there is lots to do and see if I can help you anymore just PM me

Good for you!! Tassie is gorgeous. What a shame you're going to miss the markets, they're pretty good. Launceston is really nice. If you get there the walk out to Cataract Gorge is stunning and it's just so picturesque it's really nice. The road between Launceston and Hobart is dotted with REALLY old little towns that are well worth stopping and taking a look at. Hobart is just another city I guess, with a million choices and the gateway to many other touristy areas so you're bound to find ideas there. The information centre in the city is a good one and has a tonne of ideas to help you out.

But like Julz said, it's really not as cold as people make out. We were there in October and it was HOT. We were walking around Port Arthur and the heat was almost unbearable.

Enjoy!!

Thanks girls. We've been so busy with wedding plans that although we know where we're going in Tasmania, we haven't worked out what we want to do while we're there.
We'll be there for 2 weeks at the end of March. Any idea what sort of temperatures we'll be looking at and what the weather might be like. Yes, I had it in my head that it would be quite cool. smile.gif

Mrs Thingo, if you're serious, I'll find out what dates we're going to be in Hobart and maybe us i-do girls can have a coffee together. Not that I drink coffee, but that's what we call it when we just want to catch up over a drink wink.gif

I am a tassie girl and just spent my honeymoon on Tassie's west coast. It was absolutely wonderful. Totally relaxing. We went bushwalking, on a river cruise, 4wheel motorbike riding on the sand dunes. TOo much to mention. YOu will have a wonderful time.

Lucky girl!
Justin took me there for a holiday last September and we had such a fantastic time...it is so relaxed in Tassie. The best bit is that it's so tiny, you're in the car for an hour and you can be in a totally different place. No massive distances. Plus, the people are lovely - so friendly smile.gif

I hope you have a fantastic time. We personally loved Launceston, we did a cruise and went to the gorge and the chair lift...plus we had yummy Thai at a great price. Very nice chill out town.
We did it!
Carla & Justin, happily married since April 8th 2005

Oh, I still haven't confirmed this with h2b, but I think we're on Hobart for a couple of days from Easter Monday (28th). So I guess we'll do the Cadbury tour on Tuesday or Wednesday - anyone want to join us? Or recommend a place we can meet for coffee?
