I have never had anything waxed in my life- I pluck and shave baby- pluck and shave.

However I am considering having my legs, underarms and bikini (Brazillian) done for the wedding- all in one go.

Is this a bad idea?

Could I die? wink.gif

And how long until hair in these regions grows back? I don't want to have it all done on the Wednesday and then have prickles by the wedding on the Sunday if you now what I mean....

You better have a trial run first.

I can't get my legs waxed as I suffer so badly from in growns and nothing helps.

I can get my underarms, eyebrows and bikini down without any trouble at all, although depending on the heat, you may end up with some sweat pimples down below. Everyone's different, so that's why I suggest you have a trial first. wink.gif

tongue.gif Siobhan... you're one huge daaaaaawk! biggrin.gif

No hun, chances are that you probably won't die.

From a seasoned waxer (of all of the things you mentioned), its not as bad as people make it out to be! It can be pretty painful, but after the first few strips of wax are off, its a breeze!

I agree with Sharon, a test run might be a good idea, but you're running out of time sweets!

Chances are, if you have them all done tomorrow, that there will be re-growth in some of the areas & the re-growth probably won't be long enough by the time the wedding comes around to re-wax it!

But then again, are you willing to risk the chance that you may come up with ingrown hairs, rash, etc? I know I don't, but quite a few people are allergic to either the wax or suffers from ingrowns!

Sorry I'm not much help.... just wanted to make sure you saw both sides of the 'waxing argument'! biggrin.gif

why don't you just get it lasered?
I did my underarms and brazilian bikini....did my 3rd session about 2 weeks ago and no more underarm hair and only tiny hairs here and there in bikini area which will get covered in my next session. Worth it. Will never have to worry about hair again biggrin.gif Joy!!!!!!!!!!

PERSONALLY... I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND A TRIAL RUN ON YOUR KEENY AREA!!!!

Because the hairs may not all be grown back there before you get them waxed again and there fore you may even have hairs growing back as early as the next day!!! Especailly since you only have a month left!

And you dont want that happening!! Esp down there IYKWIM!!! tongue.gif

Just get it done down there - Wednesday before would be fine!

I'm not sure on the other areas... but personally I wouldn't want anyone to wax my underarms! AWWWWCCCHHHH!!!

Good Luck!

And no... you wont die!

Maybe though... if your getting it all done at the same time you will!!! tongue.gif

OOOWWWCCCHHH!!

You wont die sweetie tongue.gif

I havent had anything waxed before, except my eyebrows.. But I dont know about the trial, as the hairs may not grow back before the big day!! Maybe you could try a bit of waxing on your legs, see if they react, then you could get them done before the day!!

Nothing is more beautiful then the love that has weathered the storm of life.

waxing won't leave you with prickles 3 days after.

I only get my legs done, but my lady says that the hair is in 3 cycles or something and grow at different times blink.gif

But, if I wax my legs, I've got at least 4 weeks of freedom from having to do anything, I don't get in grown hairs, I'm lucky.

The stuble also grows back softer, no prickles, so it's nicer smile.gif

I only do a half leg though, just above my knees smile.gif

Good luck.

(Make sure you go to someone that is recommended and not just any salon, some of them are total butchers!)

Okay will do!

Thanks for your support everyone- I am going to take the plunge and get everything done. If I get ingrowns or a rash- well it will be another one of those painful lessons I can laugh at in a few years blink.gif

Siobhan
If i were you, i would try and go this weekend. Book in for the whole lot then explain when your wedding is and that you haven't had it done before. IF they are a good place they will recommend what you should do. Before my wedding i was going every 4 weeks for legs and you can go every 3 weeks for underarms. You are less likely to be worried about the week of your wedding if you already know what to expect! Oh and don't go the week of or before your period, it will hurt ten thousand times more!!!
Good luck!!

EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE!!!! That'll really help prevent ingrowns. Also, if you're going Brazilian, get some Bep@nthen cream at the ready and start using it straight afterwards. Also, consider taking a couple of pain killers just before your appointment. (nothing too strong, just pan@dol, pan@max or similar).

Good luck - and look at the bright side, at least if you die, you'll go out well groomed! tongue.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Siobhan - waxing will not kill you.

If fact, you will feel lighter, (again, this lightness does not mean that you are on your way to heaven). Gettin waxed makes me feel so pretty (not to mention so clean and sparkly!)

If you havent already done so, have a trail run on all of it NOW, so that then you can get it all done the week of your wedding (legs and brazilian are usually done every 4 weeks for best results, I think).

I guess that this thread started a while ago, what did you end up doing?

If you have a wax done on Wed, you will not have pricklys for about a week.
